What equipment would most producers in JA use?

hi there this is my first post

i am a 19 year old aspiring dancehall producer. i was wondering what is the main equipment the bigtime dancehall producers in jamaica use? and how they get there **** soo tight? is it mainly triton based? right now i am diggin riddims like drop top, tai chi, dreamweaver and that joint with TOK - gal yuh a lead?

i would really appreciate a answer as i would love to get into the industry.

also what musical theory pertains to dancehall specifically? if you would break it down what elements are most prominent in the genre... like the 3 beat patterns. sorry if this is poorly phrased.
 
A lot are using the MPC drum machines and Tritons. A lot are also using FL. I am not a trained musicians so I can't tell you about the theory. Just listen to a lot of dancehall. If you can get the drum pattern right with a good bass line then that's half the battle. The drum pattern is what identifies dancehall. You can do whatever else with the rest of it.
