hi there

im a huge fan of lil jon productions but cannot find any info anywhere on what equipment and techniques he uses? could anyone shed light on this please. i love his drums, its like a 21st century 808. but i particularly would love to know where he sources his synths from? are they presets on the triton or something else? there crunk

also the same applies to dj paul and juicy j

thanks alot

You should buy the Trinton you'll be making krunk beats like lil jon in no time.

Yes, TRINTON is THE program when it comes to making krunk beats!

Actually I think Lil Jon might use fruity loops or has a old 808 wav./akai kit. The synth's can actually be found in the Triton but its a good chance that whoever said he's using Fruity Loops---he could be getting some samples from out of that and tweaking them a bit. If you listen to the Youngbloodz, he inserts the 808 after the third or fourth bar. His songs are pretty easy to make. You have to realize that his hooks are what keeps the tracks momentum. DJ Paul and Juicy J, now they use a MPC--With a Triton.

Seriously, it's not about how hard his music is to make, it's his energy that really captures the audience. I'm sure quite a few of these guys hating on Lil Jon can probably make a beat similar to his with no problems at all, but I am almost 100% sure they could not possibly move an audience the way he does.

By the way, I'm not sure what either of them uses but I was listening to some old Three 6 Mafia and they're definitely using different set-ups than they did in the past. They've gotten on a more professional level by using big budget equipment while maintaining their signature sound although they have strayed from sampling melodies from popular songs. To be quite honest, I believe their sampling techniques were actually their major driving force.

Personally, I would preffer if Paul and J would drop the rap act and stuck together as a production team. But they're making money so I don't think they're in a rush to abandon their organization.

well he wasted a helluva lotta money, cuz i can remake most of his beats with FL studio & my FM7 plugin

It doesnt matter if you can remake a simple beat. What can you do thats a step above the possibilties that equipment has.

All of his drum kits are staright 808. Go to akai website they have clean sounding 808kit download for free.

true. most of that screaming adds to his production, but as far as just instrumentals go, i'm stickin to my comment

hi there

where did you find this info about lil jon using the triton motif and mpc?

thanks

Once again, I stabbed myself in the mouth. I did this on another thread. Lil Jon is doing well right about now--I have to agree with the cat at the top---even though that song with Yin Yang on Britney's album is garbage--I will say that Lil Jon helped them get there. beyond that equipment answer, I made a few beats with the kits he used on FL studio--you can pretty much do anything if you put your mind to it--but its what you do with the track. The brain is the most expensive equipment you got===so it doesn't matter--you can have 1980's casio and make some hot stuff as long as you put your mind to it and freak it.
