i have been editing for years with sound forge/cool edit and wave lab, but mainly sound forge
Always wanted to go into music production and my cousins have been doing it for months now if not a year.

So currently im using
FL Studio
CakeWalk Project 5
SoundForge

and want to get
Sonar
Reason 2.5
Cubase

Dont have the funds yet for the hardware aspect
but i heard those are good software for music creation
didnt like druity too much as the beats sounds too cheesy, so im hoping to find one that has a more realistic studio sound !!

I've produced Ragga tracks with Sx and fruity and both have their own qualities. I find fruity best for knocking out a quick riddim and Sx is better for more involved work. As long as the bass is big and tight and everything is well compressed you'll be O.K! I also find that maybe a bit less overall treble is good if you plan to be airing on fat systems.
Chek 1 of my riddim: http//www.soundclick.com/jetlee
Enjoy!

THE FUTURE =1= said:
is the Behringer Tube Ultragain T1953 any good??

It's OK...I had it for about a year and decided to stick with the pres on my Mackie. The tubes are more for show than any pratical use, even though the more "warmth" you add tends to really excite than add punch.
