What do you think of Behringer's new Xenyx series mixers?

I'm thinking Mackie is going to *own* Behringer soon.

That being said - Most of the Berry "clone" pieces don't sound nearly as good as the pieces that were cloned - If you could consider them "good" in the first place. I've never cared for most Mackie preamps, and I don't care for the Onyx. They're *okay* and that's about it.

So I'm assuming that the Xenyx would blow as basically every other Behringer preamp I've ever tried blows.

alot of people think highly of the onyx pre-amp, are they really that good?

and even with the xenyx series, i don't "DARE" going back to behringer, i just don't dare lol...

im still in the process of shopping for a mixer/audio interface.

this one looks interesting:
mackie onyx 400f
i think that or the yamaha 01x

Haven't heard about this Mackie owning Behringer thing, but either way, Behringer sucks, period.

At least with my experiences, the Euroracks are cheap and a piece of crap.

I don't think Behringer IMP preamps were good, so I doubt these Premium one's are that much better.

Mackie has seem to slowly decline in making solid cheap gear. The whole VLZ line really isn't up to standards, they don't even have a good pre amp.

I'm not so sure about the Onyx series, I've heard to much from both sides on those, so I'd still say that makes for a bad mark on Mackie.

I like Mackie, its a bit sad to see them make crap.

I love that Yamaha 01X, thing really is the real deal, or at least they got me buyin' the hype!

I would love to have one, but they're quite expensive.

That FireWire 400 by Mackie is nice, pretty slick rack unit, and since I have a love for those, I'd almost say to get that one instead, and I'm a Yamaha head!

Man, those both are really nice, together, you'd have a nice interface/mixer combo.

hehe yea, i went last week to the music store to check out the 01x, one thing i didn't really like is that it doesn't feel solid. especially the faders, they were plasticky and fragile, i dunno

and regarding the firewire onyx,
i like them rack units, nice and sophisticated look, i hate the consumer type of gear, like most of the usb and firewire interfaces, they look like toys and seem unprofessional

That's sad to know that Yamaha took no consideration on the most used parts of any mixer, the faders.

I hope they're not the same one's they use on the MG series (I'm about to cop the 16/FX6)!

I like rack gear, able to be neat and easy to get to, as well as looking more professional.

I don't mind my RME MultiFace, its a half rack, but I need a rack shelf.

I have a Joe Meek VC3, also half rack, and a Presonus Tube Pre, that's like smaller than a half rack, its weird. These one's are the one's I shouldn't have bought, but for the money I had and paid for them (about 85 bucks each) I had no other options.

I think if the company is good, then the product SHOULD be good, but doesn't always hold true.

Ha ha... They dropped their IMP pre amps, I wonder why?

Behringer sucks man. Period. If you need something for live sound, and it doesn't have to last long, then Behringer is alright I guess. But it's simply unusable in a studio environment.

I hab a Behringer UB 2442 FX mixer that was crappy. The pres on it sucked. They were so noisy that you couldn't use anything you recorded from it. And to top it all off, it burned out after like a year.

No way would I buy another Behringer anything for studio use.

Well, I take that back. I did just buy a Behringer headphone amp and mixer. But even though I will be using it in the studio, nothing going thru them will be recorded. It's simply for the vocalists to listen to when they record and a way for me to use a mic to talk to them in the headphones.

So, as long as you're not recording anything that passes thru it, then I guess Behringer is okay for a little while. But just know that it has a really crappy build quality and probably won't last too long. And the sound quality is crappy too so recording it is out of the question...

That's how I've always felt about the Digi 002.

Does anyone know how the Project Mix pre's compair or how it compairs overall. I was thinking of getting one but I've gotten mixed signals.
