Vestax PMC-05 PROIII vs. PMC-05 SL

I'm in the business for a new mixer and have been saving up my pennies and dimes. I'm mainly in the business for a Vestax mixer due to the fact that I'm too poor to buy a Rane or anything equal to that. I've been looking at the Vestax PMC-05 PROIII and the SL version of it. I noticed the SL is 100 bucks more (on guitarcenter.com) and has a sampling on there. Is there any other big difference? I'm trying to be as cost effecient as possible due to the fact that I'm a full-time student and only work a part-time job. Any info/experiences would be much appreciated. Thanks.
 
Well theres many mixers you can get in that price range. Over a pro3, I would suggest an Ecler Nuo 2, and in the price range of the SL, you can get an allen and heath xone 02, urei 1601, or Mackie D2 (which is the best mixer in that range imo). There are many more viable choices than a Vestax. I have nothing against them, and I own a pmc 05 pro 2 which is built like a tank, but there are better options.
 
the regular pmc05 mkIII (not the sampler one) has an fx loop.

i actually went ahead and got that mixer, if you pop a pro x fade in to it then you have a world class scratch mixer with an fx loop and it won't cost that much.

the only problem is that the eq knobs and **** on the top plate are way too close together.

what sort of DJ are you?
what do you want/need your mixer to do?
and how much are you willing to spend?
 
Well im willing ot spend around 500. I'm more of a scratch dj.

I've given the pro x fade a look but I can't find a US site or place to order/buy it from.

I'm looking for a durale cost efficient mixer without all the unnecesary bells and whistles.

do you play clubs as well??

i only scratch and i really like the 05, you also have the option to add an fx unit. it may not seem like a big deal now but when you add one, the you can really start to do some crazy ****.

other mixers you may be interested in:
Allen & Heath Xone 2 (really high quality mixer, and comes fitted with a penny and giles crossfader as standard)
Audio Innovative AEM-100i (excellent mixer with built in analog effects, only problem is the upfaders are too far apart which may be a problem for some people)

other than those two i think you'd be best to go with the vestax05.
