ok, here's the deal,

all of my faders, upfaders, crossfader, pop a bit when they come close to the edge, it's fine practicing by myself, but it's practically unusable for shows

when it gets like a milimetre from the edge it crackles a little like a static sound, and when i pull it back away, it does the same, so there's actually 2 pops, but when I click, it basically sounds like 1 louder one

i modded my crossfader with a piece of eraser on the fader rail, and shortened the cut off by about a milimetre, and that solved the popping for the crossfader

but the upfaders do it, and I can't do that mod for them, or they wouldn't be able to go up to full volume, and each side would be slightly different, depending on the amount the mod differs from each side

anyone know why this is? i'd send it away to get fixed, but i've modded the mixer already, so the warranty's probably done for...

pz!

eh that happend to me before its because alot of dust got in my faderz so i used some keyboard spray the compressed air to blow it out, I use cailube now which is 50% air and 50% lube so it cleans and lubez works great, Iunno why you modded it with an eraser you shouldnt have to.

hey, i've done compressed air, tuner control spray and cail lube... nothing worked... someone said it might be a grounding problem, someone else said it was a problem with some 05 pro mixers... :(

the eraser mod's actually really good though, you should try it if you want better cut in, but don't want to mess with wires and the technical parts... it also dampens the click sound :) pz!

oooo siick yea thats a good idea ill def try that, gracias for the idea ;D

rubber mod?

less cut in you say?
swift crabs mmm?
faster flares ey?

please do tell all..

Damn, that sucks. Any 05 or similar mixer made after 99-2000 by Vestax has had problems. That's what happens when you decide to cut corners in order to keep manufacturing costs down. My 05 that I bought in 1999 has had only 1 major problem that I got fixed just recently. The left channel was cutting out. Turned out to be some wiring that needed to be resautered. Good as new. I got a friend of mine who got a 07 pro in like 02 or 03 and he's already had more problems in just a year or so than I've had in 5 years with mine. That should tell you something. Also,I bought another 05 off ebay. The seller said he bought it brand new in 2003. I had it for about 6 or 7 months then it started having feedback problems thru the headphone monitoring system. Now it just collects dust. It's fully functional, just gives off feedback thru the headphones and now you can hear it coming out of the speakers.Sucks.....Vestax has really dropped the ball.

sounds like i'll need to save up for a new mixer... but it's so young still... :(!!!

ok, eraser mod, here goes:

1. take off your face plate and other stuff to take your crossfader out.

2. unhook the crossfader from the mixer

3. take off the silver outside part on the side that the fader rail is (it'll be the same side as the contacts and such, you'll be able to see the fader moving on that side)

4. there'll be a rubber washer on the fader rail, move it forward a bit.

5. cuz off about a milimetre or 2 of rubber from a pencil eraser, and shove it behind the washer. (the more you cut off, the shorter your cut in time, but if you cut too much off, you won't be able to cut at all, so just take it out, and shave it off more).

6. put it back in your mixer, make sure the cut in time's what you want, repeat the procedure if you want to adjust it a bit, either put a bigger piece of eraser in for shorter cut off, or shave the one in there down for longer cut off.

7. don't blame me if you mess something up, this is just what i did.

8. muhfukkin scratch dat ish! pz!
