here are those modified Vestax faders i was talking about:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=921390999&category=14986
and here's an excerpt from the auction page:
You are bidding on an original Vestax PCV crossfader that has been hand modified. You will not be able to find this crossfader anywhere. In stores, online, NO WHERE! These crossfaders are brand new, never been used, and in beyond perfect quality. It’s MODIFIED! This fader is as loose as the Focus Fader but instead of being so light and flimsy, it still has the hard beefy feel of a Vestax crossfader.
These are not self made crossfaders. These are actually crossfaders that are purchased and modified to sell. Making my own crossfaders and passing them off as authentic Vestax crossfaders would infringe on Vestax’s Copywright policies. This also explains why this crossfader is so expensive. I offer a 6 month free servicing for all faders I sell. This basicly means that if the fader bleeds within’ six months of your purchase, you can ship it back and I will retune it for you at no charge. All you pay is the shipping. I know 6 months doesn’t seem long at all, but you gotta admit, it’s about 6 months longer than what Vestax has to offer.
These faders come cheap because I buy in the masses, not because they’re fake. This is guarenteed to be the best crossfader you will EVER use other than the Samurai Crossfaders. But who wants to pay $1000 for a mixer just for it’s crossfader. The feel of the fader is half way between a STOCK PCV fader and a Samurai fader.
This fader is ligit so give it a try. Don’t even waste your time with a bone stock, bleeding, stiff, Vestax PCV crossfader and get your modified faders today. This crossfader has been cut and molded in special ways to make the cross fader itself to be the following:
Contact Tuning (This causes less friction on the crossfader making the fader more loose)
Note: This does not cause the fader to have a shorter life span or bleed!
Chassis Lightening (This makes the crossfader itself feel more light and moveable just like the first crossfaders that came out)
Note: This involves cutting but will not cause the fader to be flimsy.
Frame Tightening (This makes the whole crossfader tighter and prevents the fader from wobbling)
Note: This does not cause the fader to be tighter and stiff.
Glide Bar Alignment (This make the glide bars of the fader more parallel preventing it from sticking over time.)
Note: This will not cause the fader to travel in altered directions.
Narrowed Cut Off (Moves the cut off point closer to the ends to allow easier crabbing and sharper cuts)
Note: This is not that old putting a piece of electric tape over the magnetic contacts.
All these things that’ve been done to these crossfaders are very difficult to perform and is not recommended that you try this yourself. You can try if you want, but I hope you don’t end up with a dead $100 crossfader.
