vestax pcv 175

i've got a pcv-175 and i wanted to buy a new cross-fader with a steeper curve for scrathing but i was told that the curve was fixed inside the mixer. is there any way of changing the curve? how much is a repacement fader anyway?

a replacement fader is around 25 bucks or so.

Yeah sure, you can change the curve, but not without opening up the whole mixer and soldering in new transistors and ****. I wouldn't recommend this at all.

hahahahahaha i use the same mixer and damn, i've been wishing the same thing for months...

the straight skinny is that the PCV series of crossfaders all have wide curves - Vestax's scratch mixers all use a different kind of x-fader that allow for curve control - something the 175 doesn't have.

the only way around this seems to be a wacky mod by the Asisphonics boys that involves sticking a Stanton Focus-fader into the 175!!! i really want to test this out, but i'm sorta reluctant because Focus-Faders cost around $85, and while i'm handy with a sodering gun, i'm no craftsman.

i've also seen Vestax x-faders for sale on Ebay that have been modified to increase the slope. the cost on them is also in the $80 range, and those are aftermarket modifications that may or may not work.

i have considered buying a steep-slope Vestax PMC fader (the kind in the 05) and seeing what happens if i just stick it in the 175, but i know the voltages between PMC and PCV type faders are different.

i guess we won't know until one of us Vestax PCV-175A owners feels a little more daring and gets under the hood of that beast... as it is, it's my only mixer right now and i'm reluctant to perform surgery on it.

This fader is ligit so give it a try. Don’t even waste your time with a bone stock, bleeding, stiff, Vestax PCV crossfader and get your modified faders today. This crossfader has been cut and molded in special ways to make the cross fader itself to be the following:

Contact Tuning (This causes less friction on the crossfader making the fader more loose)
Note: This does not cause the fader to have a shorter life span or bleed!

Chassis Lightening (This makes the crossfader itself feel more light and moveable just like the first crossfaders that came out)
Note: This involves cutting but will not cause the fader to be flimsy.

Frame Tightening (This makes the whole crossfader tighter and prevents the fader from wobbling)
Note: This does not cause the fader to be tighter and stiff.

Glide Bar Alignment (This make the glide bars of the fader more parallel preventing it from sticking over time.)
Note: This will not cause the fader to travel in altered directions.

Narrowed Cut Off (Moves the cut off point closer to the ends to allow easier crabbing and sharper cuts)
Note: This is not that old putting a piece of electric tape over the magnetic contacts.
