USB Hubs

Do you guys have USB hubs set up with your computers? My laptop only has 4 slots and I need to plug in my MIDI Keys, MBox, Mouse, Keyboard and an External HD. Can someone recommend a decent USB Hub because most of the ones I look up have terrible reviews and I've had bad experiences with hubs in the past.

any POWERED usb hub should work fine. But make sure it is powered otherwise some may not work.

just remember that your drivers for your midi controllers/audio interface will point to a specific USB port, so if this is a setup you plan on taking apart/putting together frequently, make sure you write down which port was for which device.

Your mouse, keyboard(qwerty), and HD on the other hand should be interchangeable.

ive heard good things about this one, my good friend has been using it alot, and says its reliable and the usb sticks register just as quick as if it was directly connected.

Korgs getting smarter and realizing that producers need more usb ports, and have started incorporating them into their microKEYs..

excellent point! I don't know how many times I've had friends complaining that their computers are slow. Come to find out, the connections to the non-powered USB HUB was straining the processor's resources making it slow as fk.
