turntable advantage?

So ive seen videos and most people i see that make sampled beats use a turntable with records(of course). My question is are there any advantages of taking a song from a real vinyl record and sampling it rather than downloading it off youtube or anywhere else? Or is it just for the status that you crate dig or whatever?

Not really.

I mean, So people might say the original recordings have more "warmth" or grit to them, but I think it's just a personal thing. Digging is just something that people do.
