Trying my hand at this (sampled track - feedback please)

Hey folks, I've never tried making anything that could be vaguely classified as hip hop before this, so forgive any grievous sins I may have committed. The loop in the middle of the song is grabbed from a david banner/lil wayne/akon track called Speaker. I'd appreciate some honest feedback and will do my best to provide some useful opinion in return.

This reads more like an interlude to me. you really could make a dope new genre of this type of stuff, or are you going for more a classic type sound? i do like the what you did here and i think it's mad unique. I have no idea what I'm going for really. I just got mad blazed one day and decided to try out something a little bit out of my comfort zone. I quite liked the result. Just needs better mixing, like paps said.
 
The mix needs to be improved, eq the bass, lower the volume of the main melody and that brass also needs to be mixed. I like that vocal sample :) The track has potential, just needs to be mixed properly :)
