i never hate on any artist or music genre, BUT i'll wipe my ass on lil b album if i see one. that guy has to be biggest troll in music history.
 
The Pharcyde - Bizarre Ride II Tha Pharcyde
Big Pun - Capital Punishment
Common - Resurrection

3 very different styles, but all essential in my eyes.
 
Tribe Called Quest - Low End Theory (for the beats)
nas - Illmatic (for the lyrics)
Eric B and Rakim - follow the leader (for the style and everything else)

i chose those three because i didn't wanna choose 3 wu-tang albums, but i could just as easily go with:
