No...that's what they have "hip hop awards" shows for. The awards mean nothing. The potential for violence (that brings ratings) means everything.



You don't see the Grammy Hip Hop Awards, or the American Hip Hop Awards. But you do see The Country Music Awards.


There's a reason for that.

which is the exact reason hip hop will always be a shunned genre of music. if BET actually attempted to make a good award show this could change.

Hip Hop isn't shunned. It's damn near the most mainstream genre out. Aside from Pop.

im talking about with society as a whole. rock and roll is loved by everybody meanwhile the majority of adults think of it as non-sense music and ive even heard that rappers dont have any talent at all.
