These are the most Motivational words i've ever heard for any creative person!

“Nobody tells this to people who are beginners, I wish someone told me. All of us who do creative work, we get into it because we have good taste. But there is this gap. For the first couple years you make stuff, it’s just not that good. It’s trying to be good, it has potential, but it’s not. But your taste, the thing that got you into the game, is still killer. And your taste is why your work disappoints you. A lot of people never get past this phase, they quit. Most people I know who do interesting, creative work went through years of this. We know our work doesn’t have this special thing that we want it to have. We all go through this. And if you are just starting out or you are still in this phase, you gotta know its normal and the most important thing you can do is do a lot of work. Put yourself on a deadline so that every week you will finish one story. It is only by going through a volume of work that you will close that gap, and your work will be as good as your ambitions. And I took longer to figure out how to do this than anyone I’ve ever met. It’s gonna take awhile. It’s normal to take awhile. You’ve just gotta fight your way through.”

Not saying I'm amazing, but my turning point was when I decided to stop pumping out loads and loads of crap work and start putting way more focus, effort, and thought into single projects.

Awsome words. Not sure if in the right forum lol, but yes...
But I think that it's boring you know....for a begginer to work 1 year or even 2, and see few results it's really bad...how can someone not quit if they have thousands of ideas, they practice a lot and they do only regular stuff or techinically bad stuff? Really, like in everything, writting, drawing, sports, after 1 year aren't you supposed to know already if you are good or not, and therefore if you should keep doing this or try something else?

Good question.

This is actually a pretty good question. How do you know if you are good enough to make it? And if you didn't get a shot, should you then quest or keep on going?

I ask this because im thinking about quitting the game. There's just not enough passion or motivation in me that thrives me any more.:(

I think making music is more than just "being good at it or not." Sure, there are obviously certain producers and musicians who just have a natural talent for making sick beats, day after day after day. But as far as making music goes, you should be doing it because you love it. Whether I make it or not, I don't ever see myself giving this up, simply because I love doing it and it makes me happy. I think if you love what you do, keep doing it. The skills and talent will come with time. If you're not feeling the passion right now, try new things. Listen to new music. Inspire yourself.

I personally love doing too many things and I have few time for music... and I steal time from drawing and writting poetry to train, but is it worth it?

Everyone has their place in life. Not everyone is meant for music. That being said, the people that wanna make it will find a way.

nice quote, so true. you can really tell the drive in some people. they are starting out the raps are a little off, the beats are thin and not much more than a 4 bar loop but they have a love for it. If thats what you want to do and our passionate about it you will work through that starting period. For most people it is just a hobby and eventually they hang it up for something else full time and come back every once and a while. But ya like everything practice makes a world of difference. If your stuck in the beginner stage to long you aren't putting in the effort to develop your craft, talk to people who are pros and can give you advice, read up on mixing techniques and keep plugging away.

Really good quote! I just started producing in Feb. but I'm getting alot of good feedback. I still have a good amount of people telling me that "it's missing something." I agree with most of them and that's why everytime I'm on my computer I open up Fl Studio even if I don't want to make something, I'll mess around with a sample, melodies, drums, or whatever. I think that helps me alot to learn. But I still got alot to learn.
