My question is... If the majority didn't agree with that, why didn't they fight for their rights? I mean c'mon... Just because someone said "it's good for you" you're automatically supposed to believe that? This is what I'm against. Taking "orders" blindly.
They weren't taking orders blindly though, lol. They signed up and said they would do everything they were told or face a dishonorable discharge... (I did too but I got tired of taking orders and got out...)
I had a friend that heard a fire fight in a bunker and his commanding officer told him and his squad members to "Go check it out!" LOL. They were wise enough not to commit ordered suicide but they all got kicked out for insubordination or something and got dishonorable discharges. It's the equivalent of saying you're an unpatriotic slug. At least they're alive. They said they laughed at him when he told them to go check out the shooting and he got upset... his ego was bruised.
"Go check that out!"
"Are you out of you mf'n mind, lololololol!!!"
"You all are disobeying orders!"
"We know... and?"
