In past threads there's been a question about who wrote "The Interim" performed by Diana Ross and later interpolated by NAS/Kanye West called "Still Dreaming" the hook from "The Interim". There are some astute folk coming to this site cause they heard what the pros did not. You are right....Jimmy Webb did not write that song..... He wrote "interim" performed by Richard Harris. "The Interim" was written by Cheryl Ernst Wells and produced by Bones Howe in 1969. It was one of four recordings that were not released until 2002 by Motown Universal Classics. The mixup was thanks to none other than Motown Universal Classics' Harry Weinger, A&R man and NYU Professor.... he put the wrong information on the album credits. It snowballed.

"Always Beginning"

cool stuff, love that song. gotta check that cheryl ernst album later

"The best place to hear a couple of her songs is on Youtube. The album is called "Always Beginning" it is a Bones Howe production released in 1973. "Fantasia Suite", off the album, has a live orchestra. Other songs like "Looking Back", written by Cheryl Ernst and Jimmy Rowles, Stacey Rowles vocals... is also on Youtube.... This song was performed by a number of singers including Diana Krall with Anthony Wilson's nonet performing the music." Another: "Where are you?", tricky to find, but maybe on Youtube...it is lyrics by Cheryl Ernst Wells/music by Bennie Wallace for an unrealized animated film, called "Betty BooP".
