What I've heard is... Great mixer, but the crossfader sucks.

I've never used one though.

What do u mean the crossfader suck, does it bleed easily or sumthin?

Yeah, I've heard that it bleeds really quick...Like in a week or two.

It's decent. I've had mine since 1999. The crossfader does suck though. It bleeds very easily especially if you really put it through a good workout a few times. I put a brand new fader in mine and put it through its paces. The new fader started bleeding after about a week or so. The crossfader is a PHUKKIN BYTCH to change out too. I literally had to send it to a tech in order to get the fader put in. The crossfader seems to "stick" as well after a few hard uses. I keep mine around for looks and sentimental value only. I won mine at the 99 DMC Texas Heat. That's the only reason I've kept it. That and also for a back up mixer.

word.. i imagine the only reason people get this is to prepare for the dmc. if you're not looking to battle in the dmc, theres way better options

I got the Technics SH-EX 1200 mixer in November last year and have been giving it real use every day... no problems so far. I find the EQ's to be spot on and the build of the mixer to be very solid (crossfader included)

Is the SH-DJ 1200 a different mixer??

Is that the silver one or the one with the better crossfader? Technics had put one out with a digital crossfader or something like that.

it's black with gold trim - I've heard a lot of people talking down this mixer but as I say I've had no problems with it yet.

If it's black with gold trim then it's the sh dj 1200. The EX version is silver. Like I was saying though, one of them has a better crossfader in it. You have the black shdj1200,the silver one which is the EX I believe and then there is another model. It's also siver but has a better crossfader AND a crossfader reverse switch. Hell, that might be the EX model. Does yours have the crossfader reverse function on it???? Technics could have put out a black version of it that I'm not aware of.

this link should take you to the website I got the mixer from - definitely the EX model, in black with hamster switch. Must be the newer model?

You got the new and improved one then. Better faders, especially the cross fader. Good lookin' on the link. Up until now I only thought the EX model was put out in silver. Technics snuck in on me. Over here in the US the EX model is hard to find. So New Kid if you are thinking about buying a Technics mixer, especially a battle type mixer the one I would recommend would definitely be the EX model.
