ok, iv been using the pioneer 600 for a couple of years, and its been good to me, but when i purchased technics sldz 1200s i felt that the sound quality coming out of the mixer wasnt that great, and i tried the pioneer 909 in the guitar center store and it was fun but similar sound quality to the 600... so i was thinking of getting the technics SH-MZ1200S but i couldnt find it in the store to try it, so im wondering if anyone has any thoughts on it or would recommend it. im using it for beat matching, house music mostly, and thinking of using efx500 or 1000 when it comes out. and i also like the idea of a mixer matching the cd players. thanks...

Its more likely the quality of sound is lacking because of the CD player itself rather than the mixer. Especially if you tried another mixer and ended up with the same result.

The DLZ1200's aren't a pionnering piece of equipment! I wouldnt be suprised.

But to answer your question I have yet to try the mixer out. Will hope to do so soon.

i gotta agree there, i tried the Technic SLDz1200's out in store and thought they were really lacking in sound quality compared to Pioneer CDJ's and the Numark CDX's. They were all hooked up to a Technics SH-MZ1200 and the difference in quality between the units was quite noticeable.

The pioneers and numark sounded much more precise, clear and richer whilst the techs sounded a bit too digital for my liking, especially with the keylock on.

It's a decent sounding mixer but i think you are paying for the name more than anything as there are a lot of better mixers available in that price range.

Ecler Hak360/SMAC Pro40
Rane TTM54i/56i
Allen & Heath Xone 62
Tascam X-9
And i actually prefer the DJM600 too

All in my opinion though

i don't know, i thought they were fine, i actually like them, but the mixer though, not sure if its all that as far as the sound quality, cuz i tried the 909 on mkII Pioneer and it has the same sound so...

What's your budget? There are better sounding mixers in that price range But you wont necessarily have the effects unit/sampler included.

im mixing, price range around a thousand, but if its really worth it, i could push myself for a little more. and i wonder if u know where i could see a site that shows the Ecler Hak360/SMAC Pro40

thanks

If you can push even more than that then. One word and two numbers:

Xone 92!

oh, and i dont think i need a sample, but i do need the send and return effect so i could hook an efx to it

the nuo5 seems really good, never saw it before, i wish i could see it in store or something so i could try it, but anyway, did u use it? if yes, what did u think about it?

the xone seems good too, i wonder if the 92 has a beeter sound quality than the 62...

i haven't had a really long demo of the Nuo 5 so i didnt get to try all of the features but i managed to demo it for about 30 minutes. I really liked it, the layout was nice and simple and it feels so well put together. Sound quality is excellent too.

As for the Allen & Heath, i'm not too sure how big the differences are between the 62 and 92 but the price gap is £300 in the UK! I know the 92 has midi input so that a midi device can be connected to the VCF filters and that the faders are supposed to be of a higher quality but to be honest, you cant go wrong with a 62 and i dont think i would be prepared to pay the extra.
It has amazing sound quality and is used all over the UK in the clubs due to its outstanding reputation.
Rugged as hell and a no-bull**** mixer!

funny, was changing a mixer, and now u guys got me into selling my whole set to get a new one, on the market for 2 cdj1000 mkII and a xone 92, any recommendations where to get them from? usa online stores prefered
