Glad that the purchase worked out for you, i personally think that the Dz's look fantastic, but thats where it stops.

Everyone has their own opinon, and use what works for them.

Personally they ain't the best and searching the WWW will show which make has won the most awards/best firmware/software/useability and Dj recommendations.

But keep us posted on how ya getting on with them.

After using them for a few days now, I can say that I still like them. I still have not used anything else, but I am not sure if it's all that important to me since these are just used at home or around a few friends anyway. They seem to do the job. I think I might finally invest in Torq Connectiv as I am finding that having to prep a CD is a little time consuming. Alot of my music is already on my computer. Torq can search that music. If I have to select what I want on my CD beforehand, it disrupts my sense of spontaneity while mixing. That has nothing to do with the DZ1200's though. I still think they are great and good enough for what I used them for....

if you start playing out, it may become a minor issue...

you should be "thinking" at least three or four songs ahead... nothing concrete, as you want to be able to react to the crowd, but at least an pretty good idea of where you are going....

as long as you know your music, you should be fine enough with mixing when playing out.

Yup, I've been DJing for a very long time with vinyl. I'm just getting used to the new medium. Digital decks are still kind of new to me. I'm getting used to them slowly but surely though....

if you've stayed with vinyl so long, why jump into the CDJ type digital? why not go directly to laptop/desktop type digital system?

Actually now that you mention it, I will be getting Torq Conectiv. I like the spinning platter so it still feels like a standard set of decks. Kind of.... I just am lazy I guess and rather not deal with replacing vinyl and needles any longer. You can buy the Torq time-coded CD's so those with my DZ's sound mighty appealing... I know Tigersharc1 is doing that now. He seems pretty happy with the setup.

No doubt...if yo uneed some help on that let me know. Torq and DZ's really is off the hook. There is info on the DZ forum on that as well. Peace
