Keep in mind, I'm not selling beats to forum-dwelling pseudo-producers like yourself, I'm selling to artists. I have a full inbox of requests, praise and sales every day. I focus on "trap beats" because people like them, because people ask me to make them, because people buy them.

I don't need to sit here and defend the merits of SoundClick. From your condescending tone, I assume you must be straight cakin' off posting your "beats" on divshare - what works for you may not work for me, and what works for me may not work for you.

Just because you tried and failed at selling beats on SoundClick doesn't mean there's no money to be had - it means your tracks suck and nobody wants to buy them.

I'm curious - what's your definition of a success story?

A soundclick success story, to me, would be one that entails bringing in enough money to provide for them and their family or future family...

What's yours? Different than mine I'm sure. I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes...I'm just saying I am on a very different route than the one soundclick takes you.

Again, to each their own...

WTF is wrong with you...

He is right Dalo... Although you may be successful recording an album isn't the only way to go considering the industry right now.

Ahh, I see what he was saying now. My apologies for being snappy.

What I meant was I get the free download beats that are promo only, and I'm not gonna buy any beats from there unless I plan to make profit. Doesn't matter whether it's an album performance or radio play, if you don't have license rights you will be screwed.

ugh where is the positivity? all the money in this world let alone america and we mad cuz someone is getting some via soundclick? sounds like we need to pick up and find similar avenues. i know i am. its not about using soundclick its about promotion, marketing your BUSINESS. some of u are probably failures who are bitter.
i havent used SC yet, but ive heard successful stories and unsuccessful stories. regardless of if ure using sc or myspace or flippin personal marketing; get ur biz straight and keep it moving.
gosh guys...cant we all just get along?

Yea i was gona say dont go posting business out there like that! thats not a good loook, Realy unprofessional but all goods

Is anybody around here finding success selling beats on soundclick? I'm thinking about setting up a VIP account soon. I know that site is saturated as hell, but I'm sure there are some success stories around here.

Anybody?

If success is seeing some kind of a return in this game, then I guess i've had some success....

I've been up on that site for over 2 years and I have moved quite a few beats exclusively for $100 and up. I have paid for various promotion on that site and IMO I still haven't recouped my expenses... (I've payed for banner ads, front page ads, etc.) On the real, I have way more invested into my software, hardware and promo then I've made off beats..and to be honest I doubt that the artists/managers that cop'd tracks from me even found me thru SC......its more likely that they found me through another site or the moves that I've made here in the bay area in person.

But, back 2 soundclick, climbing the charts on soundclick isn't hard if you pay for promo (you'll go right 2 the top) but staying on the top is. How long you stay on top IMO is based on the quality of your music, your following and lets be real, if you got back 2 back bangers or sound similar to the top guys, your chances are greater.

I average roughly 1000+ plays a day and about 60+ - downloads a day. (On average I have 30+ - beats posted up) When I payed for the front page promo, those numbers tripled.....

I think its funny how alot of people b*tch about the top guys sounding the same but lets keep it real, alot of beatmakers idolize these guys and would sell their left arm to have that kind of exposure.

Anyways, I just wanted to share my $.02 on this thread and drop some real life numbers with yall.

If any of yall got any serious questions about working with artists, promoting effectively, or gear, PM me or hit me up via email (sftraxx@gmail.com) and I'll be glad to share any knowledge I may have on the subject.

Good luck to you on your way up the charts...see you @ the top.

Peezy, that "Pages" track is F*CKING REDICULOUS! I could see Jamie Fox or the Dream on that all day.

Your electric guitar sounds a little fake though, I recommend you put some vibrato/pitch bend in it.

And I recommend you put some hi-hats in the hook, to differentiate it from the Verse. Also, a tom or snare roll at the end of every 8 bar sequence would make it more exciting.

Phenomenal work bro
