first hello FP. I wanted to get some critique on my material mellymac.com and some advice on how to manage promo on SC. I purchased alot of promo for August and wanted to see who could guide me in how to maintain getting traffic and how to build momentum before, during and after the promotion. i purchased promo song of the day (5 for hip hop and 1 for beats/instrumentals) and 1 frontpage spotlight. Any advice would mean alot.

1. Presentation
-Your layout is on point, you definitely have it goin on there.

2. Beats
-Your beats are higher caliber than a lot of people on soundclick, so that's not an issue at all, keep up the good work.

3. Promo
-Make sure you get the ongoing featured band/artist promo
-When is your paid promo going to start and when did you purchase?
-You'll be constantly doing promotion, a great way to start your long-term promotion method is by making a blog. There's some great articles on my blog that will help you as I expand my beat website onto soundclick.

Well I'm glad I could help! Sounds like august is going to really push you up in those charts. Make sure you keep promoting the same song and keep it on the top of your list. Upload the song just before you start your promotion because as time goes on, your beat will start to lose value in the charts.

so same song through the whole promotion. sounds like a good move. i hope i get up in the charts. about your blog, ive been battling with myself whether to do the free D/L . i dont think i should be worried because my beats are tagged to death! lolol. if i do that and learn how to use this mailing list, that would be great.

Yeah... unfortunately the whole soundclick mailing list is kind of a bust. I'll probably do an article about it in the future. Free beats is something that I still am a little skeptical about, but sometimes you gotta grin and bear it you know? Especially when starting out. I have complete confidence that your promotion campaign will be a huge success. Not many people can pour that much money into promotion, so you are off to a great start. I'd like to hear how that week or so of promotion goes. Actually I'll probably contact you to see when the time comes.

yea ive been saving up a long time just to do this. i will be more than happy to document everything i do leading up to, and during the whole stretch of the promotion. awwww man i thought the soundclick mailing list was going to be a good tool. cant wait to see your method on collecting contacts and keeping them notified on updates.
