boi 1da and drake did their thing it was soulja boy who messed it up:

"Cheese all on me just like a Dorito"= FAIL

these are rhymes that 12 year olds write

He meant as in his jewlery. If it were simply saying he has money it would be a fail but in terms of jewlery that's a clever way to say he's all iced out.Listen to it again. It's just too fresh and poetic and practical for you to appreciate. Don't worry about it.

how do you know he was referring to jewelry and not money? I'm always willing to learn. I personally haven't heard anyone use the word cheese to refer to jewelry when using slang. Maybe im just a bit behind?

and even if it is jewelry it still sounds very basic to me. Better than his other stuff but: "more bars than a penitentiary" hasnt that metaphor been used like a million times?

im not a soulja hater because i am not a success hater but you have to admit the aforementioned lines are fairly basic

You can tell because he says the cheese is all on me with an inflection on "on me". Like hes wearing his money. As in jewlery. And how is it basic if you didn't even get it at first? Or is it just Misguided hate?

lol i already said i dont hate on soulja boy or anyone who is successful in their area of "work"

its jus my opinion that "cheese is all on me like a Dorito" sounds basic and similar to something i would expect from a 12 year old. This is the first time ive ever heard someone use the word "cheese" to describe jewlery(if that is indeed the case) so you'll have to forgive me on that.

Just because someone doesnt like something doesnt mean it is hating. if there is a legitimate reason why i think someone is wack or something said was wack its one thing. Hating is when you never give the person credit at all for anything even when they deserve it. A few posts up i said that this is a step up for soulja boy lyrically but still i just wasnt feelin it.....its ok i guess

and the bars--->penitentiary metaphor is indeed basic and has been used numerous times....also bars---> jail cell metaphors ....almost every one that starts rapping and using metaphors/wordplay has said..."i got bars like a jail cell/penitentiary/etc, locked behind my bars like a penitentiary/cell,etc" or something along those lines....

the rest of his verse was okay...i thought the mosquito line was clever...

its just that juxtaposed to drake soulja doesnt sound all that great to me.....im sure the majority of hip hop heads would agree with me so its not like im coming from left field...though majority doesnt always mean fact.....just sayin tho...

they say you are only as strong as your weakest link. This link includes...Boi-1da, Drake, and Soulja...if you had to decide from those 3, who would you say is the weakest link on this track?

i never heard someone use cheese to say jewelry but if that is the case that is kinda ill

"If we too simple, then y'all dont get the basics." - LiL Wayne.

I think SB just tried to step out of his element because he was rapping with Drake. Rapper's have a history of doing this... for example.

50 Cent is a sub par rapper... UNTIL he gets on a track with Em. Then he goes back to "Early Mixtape 50"

Eminem was already a nice rapper. but EVEN BETTER when he teamed with Royce.

Game is sub par TO ME... (my opinion) But when he did that track with Busta ft Reek Da Villian, Spliff Star, Lil' Wayne, Nas & Big Daddy Kane- Dont Touch Me (remix) He went hard. BTW, the aforementioned track is like sex on heroine... yall know the rest.

Oh and about that i got bars line Mongol mentioned... ur right, its kinda overused. So far the best comparison i have heard was Cassidy "I got bars like the factory manufacturing Snickers" and oh yeah... whats with all this metaphor talk? When u use LIKE or AS its called a SIMILE.

The irony of this is gonna kill you and your argument but um... Again...

Penitentary.

You're right it is simple, but what does he rhyme with it?

Elementary.

So he said he had more bars than a penitentary every since elementary.

So he used an elementary rhyme (more bars than a penitentary) as irony to parallel elementary school. So he's saying ever since he was young he could flow and also the wordplay is ironic.

...again if you only noticed the elementary line it sounds cheap but if you pay attention and put it together it's clever.

Its like that Wayne quote, if were too simple, then you don't get the basics"

Im not gonna listen to two of the biggest wankstas. If u say Im hatin sorry.

i was listenin to a youtube vid of drake and i commented that "im getting tired of drake, he always sounds the same, change it up man!".. and i got mad thumbs down on that comment. I didnt mean to disrespect but i guess cuz i was listenin to the mix tape a few months ago, he still sounds the same, it aint bad, but can get tiring after a while in my opinion.
