Songwriting vs song listening? preferences

what are your views on writig and performing one type of music and listening to another?
in my case perform rap but listen to house music

What I write for other people, do not like for myself. This may sound strange but it is true in my case. I do a kind of music but like to listen to another kind. Now I have to think of social media marketing for a while.

It's great exposure & inspiration to new ideas.. People have been doing that for the longest. That's why there's pretty much a blend in everything, especially with hiphop. It's all about whether or not you're a visionary.
