i might be really late on this but who cares.. has tupac ever really made a song glorifying selling drugs, gangbanging,etc things of that nature? From what i have noticed he just talks about it, and not do so-called bullshyt @ss "reporting" like most suck @ss artist try to say..
 
no, he had third person views on things he didn't parctictate, first person views on things he did have a part in (being a playa, partying, poverty,etc). That is probably why he hit the game from so many different angles. He could go from being political to being a playa to having murderous intentions to showing his love for the beauty of Black culture in America. No other rapper has been able to do that successsfully, not even Biggie, Jay or Nas.

his music is still important in today's political and musical landscape. He is still the greatest rapper of all time.

Pac glorified it just as much as other people. He was constantly talkin about what he was gon do to somebody, his .45 this, 9 milli that.

But pac balanced it out with his socio-economic commentary, so that really, the whole view of his rap content was viewed as more Ghetto CNN than glorification of it.

Troup didn't say that, he said what I've been saying, Tupac created that balance in his own music. When did 12 out of 100 ever become a balance. That ratio is lop-sided.

Now I'll argue with everything you said, except that "and such person does not exist" While I think he is the greatest, I can see how one feels that there isn't a goat.

This thread can go on and on, but I'll keep my thoughts as short as this for now.

Tupac was a phenomenal rapper, by far the BEST to do it. The emotion in the man's voice was absolutely gut wrenching. It was almost like he was yelling at you, but he really wasn't. That passion has yet to be matched by any rapper.

Now on to content; whoever said All Eyez on Me was trash is stupid, listen to wonda why they call you *****.

And let's get something straight. Pac comes from a lineage of Black Panthers and freedom fighting rebels. He openly stated at the Source Awards, back when they mattered, that black men should be well built and military minded. He HAD the power to unite the black people behind a cause. Someone with this kind of power has to disguise and hide their messages due to the fact that the powers that be don't like it when the opressed unify. If you don't believe this ask Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, and Bob Marley.. even Che.. see a pattern? They are all dead. Coincidence? I think not.
