Somebody plz tell Elephant stop saying Shizzle

OK - I know it seems like I am always bashing Ele, but he is actually one of my favorite from 19 way back when. Same thing with Beenie, but anyway

I just hate hear Elephant say Shizzle all the time, that's Snoop dog's lingua. Leave it alone, do your own thing. As Dancehal gain in popularity right now, artist need to be very concious of the things they say and how they represent Dancehall. Don't pirate a hip hop artist style and come on BET and use it like it's your own. That make some of these record companies and fans look down on dancehall as a lower art form or younger art form when we were doing this before them.

that has been ele's style from when he buss. I don't think he could change now even if he tried.
 
Naw man, When I first heard Ele back in 94/ 95, with the Scare Dem crew, him and Harry toddler were wicked. He had his own lingua- rememba (Whe wi fi do wid di Gal?, Eye-Eye and some other **** he use to say). Now that he blew up, he is biting someone else gimmick.

It's Just the last 3 years or so he start saying Shizzle, but Snoop's been saying that from way back when. Now that he buss outside the Jamaican community, he can't come and use somebody else, especially some big like Snoop. He will just loose some of the respect and credibility he work hard for. Elephant is wicked on the mic, no matter what we think about him, he is representing Dancehall to the Pop and hip hop fans internantionally, so he has to come original.
 
actually shizzle is very old and if you look at the look black movies from back in the late 60s and 70s you here shizzle pretty often
 
I hear u Kain101, but a lot of people don't know that. They don't remember those ole time pimp lingua, especially the young ones, they only remember snoop saying it.

Did you see him last week on 106 & ParK? He sound stupid saying it after every sentence. He need to just do his own thing.
 
For real. It's getting played out just like the stupid dances. He now has blase and bring down the rain. BS. Harry Toddler is also on the bandwagon with 'hop on the bus' and 'fan down the bus'. Total BS
 
no i did not catch him on 106 and park... i am gonna have to see the rerun (which i am sure they will air often)
 
Does Shizzle mean something appart of "When U see a friend Dem, great him and say Shizzle my Nizzle" ? Is it a gimmik like Harry todler Nah-Nah-Nah ? Or Bounty's Yalow ?
 
when i said that has been his style since he buss i didn't mean the shizzle i mean him using hip hop. Wasn't his first big tune when he did over biggies "warning"? ele been known for licking over hip hop songs and style.

basically...peep a song called "double dutch bus" by frankie smith. i used to stay on the west coast back in '91 and we they were saying shizzle from then.
 
imho hiphop and dancehall are not so so far. Dont know if people have heard busta tchating like he was a jamaican dj. Some kind of cool.
 
Hey Newbie - Busta is a Jamaican and been doing collabs with reggae artists since his Leaders of the New School days. The thing is that you don't hear Busta Going around saying "Yeah Yeah or Lord a Mercy - Like Bounty or Woh Na Na Na Na - like Beenie Man". Busta come with his style, whether he is doing hip or dancehall.
 
When I first heard about busta it was in about '93 when he did a track with Buju entitled 'Such a wicked act" from the 'Voice of Jamaica' album. That track is wicked.

Latest Busta Ive heard on dancehall, is gimme de light remix track (sean paul & busta rhymes)

I like to hear Bounty sayin "Lhooooord a merci" though and Capelton saying "Blazin.....mooooore fire"

while were on the subject (more Beenie bashing..i do like him..honest). He should stop saying "wray wray wray" after every sentence.

for the record, 'shizzle' is basically an E40 invention. snoop jacked a gang of yay area slang and put it on the map.

and also for the record, busta is a f*ckin clown who cashes in on his west indian background whenever it suits him.

btw he shaved his dreads. probably thinks its going to get him more acting gigs.
