I use the PMP, I started out splitting the monthly cost with a partner, he wasn't really pleased with the service & I took it over myself, right after winning a free year on PMP from one of the raffles, & not having to pay again since then
I've had a beat and a full song featured on the front page music player, a number of subscribers & requests
the big plus for me is the Ad Revenue Sharing program, I got accepted from the beginning of the program and have been making money back ever since, definitely slowly while I'm climbing up the teirs, but that changes from my work out in the physical world and online
things like producing 3 songs for Rostrum Records rising star Mac Miller, including "Somethin' About You" whose "video" (still shot on youtube with no actual scenes etc.) got 30,000 views in about 2.5 months before the account that posted the vid was suspended, but its uploaded on 3 different youtube accounts that I know of and is back up to about 11,000 combined views in just a couple weeks, which is pretty good proportionately to the actual music videos reaching a million views over time

the song was featured on the PMP front page music player after I emailed them alerting them of that placement, which increases random traffic to my PMP page, which increase my traffic statistics, which increases the money I make from the Ad Revenue Sharing program on top of whatever someone wants to pay me for a beat (which also increases with each milestone)
I also don't post any "beats" unless their specifically for a track dump, in which case I utilize the "hide" feature, to keep people from ripping the music soundclick style & getting off on me ... this keeps me moving at a snails pace, but posting actual songs has proven to be more persuasive at times than just a beat, especially if the songs are with a Mac Miller
or when my production of the 2nd single/video from FP member Fokis, the highest performing official music video from his A Walk Through MySpace Vol. 2 project), is featured on hiphopdx
http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/videos/id.6407/title.fokis-f-cons-chi-ill-where-were-you or on 2dopeboyz
http://www.2dopeboyz.com/2011/01/27/fokis-a-walk-through-myspace-v-2-free-lp along with the rest of the album upon release

so I can't complain, as long as I keep making career moves in the physical world, and promoting those moves online, at the very least I got some nice supplimental income as my brand relevancy increases
