you should pay to be able to call the "featured songs" mediocre?

I was saying that if you call the featured songs mediocre... you should establish an account and make all of the money and get all of the placements for yourself... since your ish is so hot that you can call the featured songs mediocre.

... If you saw an ad for a race where the winner would get $5000 and you saw a line of 5'5" 250lb dudes signing up... would you sign up so you could win the $5000? or would you sit back and talk ish about the dudes that signed up to race for the $5000?

(I hope you're not 5'5" / 250 lbs... I can give another example...)

... get on there and get all of the placements, money and clout.

... if your stuff is really bangin'.

Sign up, tell us your PMP name and get featured... simple.

Everybody that's saying the featured songs are wack should not hesitate to join.

Matter of fact, you should've established an account the minute you felt that you had better material than the featured songs...

You shouldn't be on FP complaining... you should be kickin' our azzes (people with featured songs).

i didn't say they were wack. just mentioning that with a list as long as that I didn't have the patience to hear every instrumental with an intro. ... might be just me though.

urban tactics, coptic beats to name a few.

did you not see the riggs morales vid?

thanks. FINALLY a person pointing me to the "success stories" I can check out. cauz everything I heard so far were "track dumps" - read: sending in a digital version of a demo CD, ergo, waste of time.

and no, I didn't see the Riggs Morales vid. thanks, I will check it out. wait, ain't he one of the A&Rs who work for Eminem?

yes, I called them "mediocre". not CRAP.
and I do get what you are saying, but what I thought this site was for is to reach the INDEPENDENT market, which is growing again.

I'm not interested in selling a beat for 2k for some MEDIOCRE "major" artist, when I can sell 5 for 1k for a project of an up-n-comming INDEPENDENT artist that I actually like.

I'm 6'5"/240lbs, but no, you don't need to give me another example. :D

i dont have much patience or time to read thru all of the responses...so lets go to the speed round... with a simple YES or a NO, HAS ANYONE PLACED A TRACK USING PMP??? i am curious...it sounds like a great concept, but a lot of people are selling dreams, and a lot of people are standing inline to buy them!! one thing i CAN say is that selling tracks is about establishing real-life face to face relationships with the people who write the songs and cut the checks.....

^^

since you stay in the A, is there a POP market out there, like Britney Spears type of artist? or do you think LA is the place for that?

hmmm, i think the market is huge for whatever type of music you want to do. but to be specific, yes. Britney herself came to atlanta to work with Polow, my friend penelope has written for Britney, Tricky Stewart has produced for Britney, atlanta-to-Britney connections are in full effect! essentially, i think producers need to create their market and formulate a very fluid and barrier-less market place. State lines should be the last thing to hold you back, even if you cant afford to fly around and shop tracks in person. BUT TRUST ME, SITTING ON A WEBSITE POSTING BEATS IS ONLY GONNA GET YOU NOTICED BY OTHER PRODUCERS WHO DO THE SAME THING!!! funny story, my writing partner and close friend just signed to ne-yo's label; she was working with Ta-Ta, Jay-Z's best friend who is now a def jam a&r. she had to teach dude how to get online on his macintosh laptop using the wireless feature and show him how to set up and check his gmail account...you think you gonna sit on your computer or a website and place a track on jigga going thru a cat with low computer literacy??, GET REAL!! Get of your fat azzes and make yourself known! get a haircut, get some proactiv, get in the gym, get some tic tacs, get whatever you need to arm you to network then get out and make it happen!

Yeah I definitly feel what your sayin, thats why I really wanna withdrawl from FP, I learned alot, but I think it's kinda styfling, and I damn sure aint depending on the net...

But thats the reason I come to FP to get knowledge from dudes like you and J.Troup, so it's kinda like 50/50.

But thanks 4 the reply, much respect, I visted your website a while ago and I knew you were somebody I could ask a question like that. Keep doin your thing though.

We need more people like you on FP, but thats the thing its FUTURE producers, some cats are PRODUCING now and the site just dont apply. LOL

People only want one song from me... Tranquilizer

... but it ain't cheap, lol.

Somebody from FP jacked my style too... I heard 'em on Hip Hop Game... mmm hmmm but he's cool with me so I won't call him out... lol.

I thought wtf... this sounds just like... hold up!!! then I thought... phugg it.

He doesn't post much but he was here during the battling era... good to see him get some shine... WITH MY STYLE !

Nah, style stealers get no love around here, put him on blast.

He had a mention in Scratch Magazine...

He came back around the time I posted that TRANQUILIZER song... then I heard a song using that type of stuff on HHG... his style was completely different before...

He's cool though. I ain't mad at him. He beat me to the punch (probably because I'm not grinding... at all)

... that song was me branching out, so I guess I can't really claim it as my style.... but I KNOW HE HEARD IT HERE FIRST, lol.

I was like "I know this dude from FP... let me check him out.... WAIT, HOL LUP WTF!" lol.
