after you switched to Live, I can listen through one of your beats without going "find another hobby dude!" :D

your stuff got like 10 times better.
and they say it's NOT what you use. duh.

I got drunk after I made my first beat in ABLETON...

I couldn't believe that what I needed had been available all of this time... lol.

I'm not that sophisticated... lol. ABLETON works for the dude that needs to just get a point across... REASON... they want to make stuff a lil' difficult.

I feel like I'm using Fruity Loops... it's just not called Fruity Loops... lol.

No offense to anyone. Ableton is rackin' up the awards and I'm glad I'm on board...

REASON 3 vs. Ableton 6.... 6 > 3

Play the waiting game with the Props or move the phugg on.

P.S.: Don't forget I'm an Ableton beginner... I've already seen some of the stuff I'm scared of that it can do....

what do you like most about Ableton

The sequencing... most all of the sounds in that song that I'm working on came out of REASON... but all of the sequencing occurred in Ableton. (drums and all... no Redrum... those live drums are a rex loop with slices being triggered by Ableton... )

... all of the effects... came from Ableton... (crazy effects, I haven't even used all of 'em, not many showcased in that song...)

The difference is like somebody handing you a hammer and nails vs. somebody handing you a fully loaded nail gun...

... and I was a true REASON fanatic... (They should just join forces...lol)

I was going to post this exact same thread, thought it might be too early tho. Jb4 was it anyone in the track dump or was it just a random label.

Random people mostly. A few a&r's sent some emails but none seemed serious about getting the ball rolling

I didn't have to pay either. You think our memberships can run out like the paying memberships do?

On topic: I've had interest, no sales yet though...:)

I have the very same question... If asked to start payin' I doubt I will

She's fine, but doesnt work well with the metronome (listen). Beat is ok, her voice is better than her beat in that video IMO.

Yeah, she wasn't exactly on the click was she:p The beat was still cool though, i'm sure she quantized

Rome your **** is sounding hot man. Amazing how new toys can motivate and focus a man.

It really isnt what you use, its how you react to what youre using. If something gets you excited, itll come across in the result. Abelton is a hot tool, but it really doesnt do anything Reason or FL doesnt do. Some people just respond differently to different types of DAWs. Which is why they are all out there for sale.

Glad you found what you like homie. And Albino is pretty insane, I been using Albino 2 for a while now, I like it better than most every softsynth Ive tried. That and Superwave P8 (yep, the free one) are my favorites.

are they still doin the invite thing? was it users inviting users? If so someone invite me!

I copped Live earlier this year... Ableton is dope. I put FL away going on a month. That **** is definitely gonna be what I ****s with for a minute.

Have you tried Sampler? Is it worth the upgrade? I ask because I mostly sample, but Simpler does pretty much everything I need. Sampler might do some **** I didn't even know I wanted though.

yeah I got contacted a few times by the major dudes, just letting me know that they'll try get something popping, and some other randoms hit me up tho.
Right now my music aint exactly up to par, still working on developing my own style.
But once I just get that "1 TRACK' that will blow a&r's away, im a shoe-in. Because basically the submission process is so easy and (ideally speaking) every track gets reviewed.
Believe it or not, but PMP can actually make you, regardless of its 12 pages of users. Through this process its really NOT about who you know, but more how suitable your track is for the artist.

well...12 pages off users isnt that much is it really?, I think its under 400 users, which I guess isnt bad considering all the producers there are out there now, but that number will probly inflate very fast, I can see them maybe chargin for track dump, or maybe for each track after the first couple or somtihn, cause those A&Rs can't listen to 1000.

i guess we'll all wait and see on the coming months. all i know is the industry is changing as we speak..guys with big credits are turning to movie scoring and other avenues to get doe. just go through some albums from the past few years and try and remember when you saw them last.

im just saying this because some people need to check themselves. there music isnt even up to par in any form or fashion..they're fooling themselves thinking they are going to blow up overnight with sites like pmp. id rather focus on my own style for a few years and find some good artists to build with. not this 1 hitta quitta type ish...

dude they're alreadying charging a fee to be on PMP. it would be ridiculous to just charge more on top of that. that's the only reason why i don't think the number will really inflate because people aren't gonna be paying $50/month if their **** ain't up to the level of quality for pmp and they're not getting anything out of it. it's just like a spliffington management deal, if you have dope **** that industry dudes would **** with then they would get you somewhere but unlike some people spliff will let people do the deal even if their **** is obviously not up to par.

^^Good Point bob, I guess alot of ppl may join but then after a few months of 50$ they realize it's not worth it (probly me). I guess its worth a shot though, especialy if it's hard to network physically where you live.

400 people x $50 = 20.000$ a month (!!!)
or roughly 250k a year.

looks like someone out there is making good money selling dreams.

I just joined for a month, but right now, it's more of a trial thing for me. I don't know if my beats are 'industry ready', but I'm at a point where I feel that I won't necessarily get laughed at. I guess I'm just doing this right to see if I can generate any interest - this is the real test to see if my beats can stand up against people who already have a track record. Need to work on that profile though - I'm probably going to get a couple of my friends who are working in journalism now to help me write it. Maybe set it up as them writing about me, with some short 'interviews'. Haha.

actually dog, u'r beats are pretty hot. they are actually better than most of the beats that i heard on the side of PMP. U know how to play, right?

on u'r myspace, that "Beat XX," did that happen to be influenced by Jeezy's Hypnotize? i'm asking cuz it doesn't really have any drums except the claps on the hook, and that's how the Jeezy song was.

Beat XIX was crazy! wuts that main synth u used?
