Whats good forum!

I just wanted to share my opinion on this thing after owning it for a while. I'm not really gonna discuss features since youtube is a thing but hopefully after you read my post it might help you make up your mind if you've been debating on picking one up. So lets get to it.

Like most people interested in this thing I read a bunch of the reviews on it , watched videos on it, compared it to the Maschine (which you are probably doing right now if you are thinking about picking one up) and I finally decided to buy it.

A little back history about me and these things: I've always loved beat boxes and used to own a few different drum machines / MPC's back in the day as well as the maschine mikro for a short while recently (which sucked BTW) so I was juiced when i seen and picked up this thing.

Anyways, so now I've owned this thing for a few months and the honeymoon is over and I can honestly say that when it works correctly its a beast. It definitely has all the good stuff that the MPC is known for and being able to throw VST's in the mix makes it a pretty mean little box. Now, if you back it up a lil bit you'll notice in the previous sentence I said "when it works correctly". I said that because unfortunately she's still buggy. At times the software will lock up... Yup..I've had it lock up mid-beat a couple of times and that always sucks. Talk about a inspiration killer...

When I bought it, the software was at version 1.3 and now the software is at version 1.4 and unfortunately even with 4 updates it still has issues... :( But, the good thing is that with every release the people at Akai are slowly ironing out all the wrinkles. (It seems like they are listening to the requests coming from the users which is always a good thing :)) Additionally: I've been on other forums too seeing what others have said about the software and the software crashing is definitely a common issue so I'm sure they'll eventually figure it out...

So with all that said do I regret picking it up? Nope. Not at all. If you like the MPC's workflow then you'll love this thing. Just keep in mind that for now that the software is a lil buggy so you'll have to remember to save your work frequently....or you'll learn to save the hard way..

Anyways, I hope this post helps somebody.

Peace~
