Site feels a little overwhelmed

Hello, just a quick one. I have noticed over the last couple of weeks that threads on here have been failing to load occasionally. Showing symptoms of an overloaded web server or problems with the database. You guys are aware of this right?

YES! I have been clicking on some threads lately and they have just been opening up plain white pages. Then I have to reload. I though there was something wrong with my laptop but i guess not??
 
Yes, we've been having problems with server overload stemming from a problem with a PHP extension we've added a few weeks ago for improving Audiofanzine (another site we run on the same server). Form time to time, this extension starts crashing without any reason. We're still investigating why this happens and if there is some workaround. On the meantime I've asked our admins to add sentinels to better detect those crashes and perform automatic restart of the server when this happens.
