where has he been?
I was trying to do a search for 'Studio Projects C1' and it wouldn't do the search as 'C1' is below the 4-letter search limit. If i search for 'studio projects' then I can potentially get loads of hits that are nothing to do with the item searched for.

I was wondering why this is as the keyword search matches whole words and not partial ones so there's no danger of searching for a short word and getting 1000s of hits from partial matches...

Just curious :)

read the search instructions... it says to use AND and OR to make a more intelligent search.

Each word has to be longer than 3 characters though, but you can get creative with the AND and OR and get where you want.

good luck

ohhhhh, I see.

I tried "studio projects or C1" and it worked!!!

(excuse me for taking over your thread, siv;) )

I must be getting brain fade or something... :)

When I tried that, I got no results which is wrong (I think) as there are some posts with 'C1' in them - I wrote some! Or is looking for 'studio projects or studio C1?

Then when I try studio and projects and C1 it doesn't let me as the work 'C1' is too short. Why does it work with or and not with and?

Major confusion...

Thanks 4etski - how did you type that into the search box?

studio projects or c1

think it got something to do with the way you press the buttons...

(if you want me to find you something else, just ask;))

well if you type "studio project OR c1" it will try to find separate resorcds for the words studio and project.

heres what you need:

studio AND project OR c1

Thanks Mano - exactly what does that statement mean?

(studio AND project) OR C1
studio AND (project OR C1)

I have no idea, I dont think parentheses () are explained as part of search syntax
