Please could someone advise me how to acheive the effect that can be heard on Seal's tune, 'Crazy'. At the start of the tune, the keyboard chords are rhythmically chopped up (for want of a better description!) and I'd like to know how that is done?

Its called a gated effect - there are a couple of ways to do it.

The easiest is to record the audio of the pads - and then cut little slices out of them in logic audio - or even acid.

If you use the LFO and modulate the volume of the track you can get a gated effect as well.

Another way is to use hyper edit in logic and draw your gated volume controls in.

Either way you'll have to figure out what rhythm youre going to want to use.

It is a very common effect used in trance on everything from pads to vox.

what Nitholar said.
a step sequencer will also do the trick
stepped LFO's like the one in the A5000 are great for this stuff

BTW anyone konws what happened to Seal ? I really like his music
