Philadelphia born rapper Gillie Da Kid was arrested on Tuesday (Feb. 6), after authorities learned he was allegedly running two drug houses.

Gillie and five associates were arrested, after authorities received a tip and searched the houses on Passmore Street in Philadelphia.

Police confiscated 89 pounds of marijuana worth $404,000.

All five were charged with conspiracy and possessing narcotics with intent to deliver.

"They were supplying numerous drug dealers all over the city, not just in the Northeast," Sgt. Robert Friel of Narcotics Field Unit 2 told the Philadelphia Daily News.

Police are also investigating another house in the area, where officers confiscated $6 million in cocaine in November.

Police watched the rapper for several hours and witnessed him receiving a delivery of marijuana.

Gillie and his associates were arrested when they attempted to leave in their luxury vehicles, which included a Lexus and Jaguar.

Gillie, born Nasir Fard, was a member of the rap group Major Figgas.

He was also an artist on Cash Money Records before a major falling out with the label's head, Bryan "Baby" Williams and rap star Lil Wayne.

Further proof Rap alone don't pay bills kids. That's my peeps tho, I hope he shake that and get back out there. He was getting established again in the music scene. Major Figaz never got their chance to shine. It's gonna happen tho.

I know FPers are about to have a field day, but before y'all turn this into a f**k Gillie thread, remember y'all acted like it was sooo unfair when they locked up DJ Drama. Bootleg CD's/Pounds of weed, either way, illegal is illegal.

89 pounds on 5 heads ain't sh*t tho. that's about 17 each. That's a felony, but good lawyer can get them no time served and lesser charges especially if they don't have priors.

$404,000? I been in cali too long, pounds go for $300-400 out here. $1,000 get you that stiiiiiiicky iiiiiiicky oooooooh, lol.

404,000 is the figure the police quoted, which you know they always try to inflate sh*t, lol. but yeah weed aint all that great out here.
 
i don't know this guy and i am completely straight-edge. but the figure that the police gave is probably bogus. the figures they give in the report and to the public may be over-inflated, but you can almost bet that pigs get into the action and keep some of what they find for themselves....:angel:

Yeah I've seen that happen before...but I think in this case they just want to make another rapper look like a "kingpin" of some sort, so they will throw everything they got at him and inflate it more.

GDK wasnt helping everything by being that flashy and out there, especially with no major record deal to back up all that bling, lol. Shoulda taken a cue from beans who lays relatively low.

Are you sure he just wasn't being greedy? I mean...he (and his "associates") had a lexus and jaguar, and we all saw all them iced out chains he was rockin on that Smack DVD segment...:rolleyes:

You never rich in this world. 90% of the rappers you can think of make lower mid to middle class income 3-10 yrs of their life. That's it.
 
17 pounds sure doesn't sound like no jail time. Sounds like at least 5 years to me.

I got family walking free right now that got caught with 13, no jail time, no one got snitched on(got it from me so I'd know). And he got bagged in Texas.

Maybe that extra 4 makes it harder??? But last I checked...slap on the wrist if you have no priors. Coke/Crack/Heroine...different story 2 grams can get you 5 years. I don't think any state wil give you a class A felony for weed. 1st offence jail time rarely happens(note in all my posts I stated repeatedly if this is their 1st offence).

Thats probably the street value if it was split into say $20 bags. YTheres a legal weed shop just down the road from me. you can go in get some pollen, play some pool and even order a burger. Very odd situation

damn homs them prices lookin real nice out there, niggas in DC pay a G for some "dirt" and we known to have good weed (east coast)... I know the first thing I'ma do in cali is smoke some of that fire (after I make bout 3/4 tracks, weed be havin me ZONED)

at least Gillie knows who made the "anonymous" call. look for lil wayne and or baby to get shot within the next few weeks for ratting Gillie out because he embarassed weezy for F.'ing baby.
