S950 Mute groups

Hi all,

I just bought a Akai S950. I'm going really well with it but still got one issue I can't solve myself.

I checked google, this forum and tutorial videos, but somehow I can't find it. Maybe wrong keywords.... So I hope someone can help me through this

I have recorded all the samples. (1 Sample, Kick, Snare, Hihat). They are on my 2000XL MPC on A1, A2, A3, A4. For these four samples I created keygroups 1-4 on my s950. Now I tried to record: Hit the hihat but this is cutting off every other sample as snare, Kick, sample itself. I can't find the command on the S950 which is mutting everything off. Every keygroup I have set to Output 1. It may be that one, but if I put every one on a different one I don't get any sound at all.....

Please can somebody help? Much appreciated
 
Outputs 1-8 are monophonic in terms of polyphony (refer to page 69 of the S950 manual) this is quite easily confused with the understanding that the outputs are monophonic in terms of audio output, ie mono vs stereo.
