rubbish turntable + mixer. recommend an upgrade

bout a numark tt1650 and gemini pmx 03, spare of the moment. they are rubbish

trying to learn to scratch but when i stop the record, with very light pressure!, the whole turntable stops, and is slow to get back to normal speed! and the mixer just keeps cutting out!

i cant afford new gear so what would you recommend for around £100? want to spend more money on the turntable than the mixer.

You're gonna have to shell out a decent amount of money for a decent turntable, even if it's used. The best USED turntable I've seen for very cheap on ebay is the Vestax PDX 2000. Powerful torque-it won't bog down at all unless you put your full weight on it- and very little skippage.

Find a used Stanton Str8-100 or Numark TT-200 (preferably the Stanton). Those I think are some of the best cheap TT's. Also the American Audio HTD 4.5 which has identical specs to the Stanton ST-150, but those are hard to come by. I think they only made them in Europe or something, so you might have more luck.

It's personal preference. I was just going by the amount of money you wanted to spend. But if you can afford the Technics definitely pick it up. It's about the best you can get.
