I know this is the wrong forum, but its the forum where i got the most response last time i had a question on the vs840. so anyway, i was just wondering how the connection works. am i going analog audio out from the VS to the in on the philips ?? or is that 'digital/coaxial' output have something to do with it? basic ****!. peace..

If you go through analogue out, to analogue in, you're going to be doing a DA conversion going out of the VS, and an AD conversion going into the Phillips. You've got two conversions to go through, before you get to CD. You're CD will be dependant on the quality of both conversions.

If you go SPDIF, then it's all digital. Just like you can bounce down again and again inside the VS, you won't ever loose any quality.

thank you for making it easy for the dummy to understand. is this SPDIF a fancy way of saying digital out? or coaxial. do i need a sort of special wire to connect them through that? or will one end of an s-wire work the same?
