Rick Ross’ “God Forgives, I Don’t” First Week Album Sales

Did great...I predicted 240K. First week sales of 215 is great in the current state of the industry

200 is great when he has 2million twitter followers? lol

LOL at you! Are you saying that all of his Twitter followers should have bought his album, for you to deem this a successful release? WTF? The cost of "following" someone on Twitter is 0. The cost of the GFID is $14. Do the math.

usually being a twitter follower makes u a fan

fans SHOULD support artists theyre a fan of, simple as that

200k is good for todays market i agree but really he should be doing more than that

And how many twitter accounts are fake or spam? Expect them to buy an album too?

200k is horrible for any market. Especially after you factor in everyone who's collecting money from it. Now thats not to say he pursued the project with finances in mind, albums definitely can be made a lot cheaper now a days than they could have in the past.

Those numbers are depressing lol. I'm gonna go pop.

How many platinum albums have there been in hiphop in 2012?

How many hiphop albums have sold 200K+ for their first week in 2012? We're talking hiphop, not any music.

Do you remember how many Jeezy sold his first week? (TM103)

Hence, the pop comment . . .

Imagine selling 50k first week and it goes right to your pocket.

Bring it on!!!!

out of the big sellers on that list

Wayne
Drake
Jay & Kanye
Beyonce
Nicki
Jeezy
Pitbull
Bieber
Usher

who all of them can repeat or top that success on the next album? interesting from
the producer's perspective, as far as targeting people who give you a decent ROI (financially)
not sure how long Wayne, Jeezy, or Ross have left
Nicki could have more time if she would talk something with substance, same with Drake
Bieber can work his image for a good while, but it would be a good idea to do more substance too
Pitbull has his niche down, he can prob go a long time
Beyonce, Jay & Kanye, I don't think they'll slow down anytime soon, whenever they choose to put out music
if they go all in on it, it will do good
Usher did better on this album (artistically) than some of his latest ones, so he might have some more time
