Recording from FPC

How do I record what I trigger on the FPC in FL Studio into the playlist? I've loaded samples of a song into the FPC and had it set to a channel in the mixer, but, when I hit record and play with "automation and score" selected, it won't allow me to record anything. I also had the Asio4All settings turned on for input and output in the channel and put FL Studio in "Song" mode.:cry:
 
Record FPC to automation only and then quantize it in the piano roll when you are done. You shouldnt need both automation and score seeing as the automation will play exactly what the score does.
