rane vs. allen & heath

Well, I brought my mixer over to my friend's last night and we tested out the mixers for quality and for fun mainly. He's got a DJM500, so we tested '3 Monkeys - Crazy People' on each mixer and guess what? They were fairly similar except that mine has a tigher overall sound and the highs were a bit brighter. :D The DJM500 highs were definitely high, but it was more of a peircing high, when compared to the Rane. maybe it's the 4 bands of EQ that I've got or the quality of it, but there was a noticeable difference after you listen for a minute. Just thought I'd share a little test bed we did. Enjoy! :cheers:
 
that's what you get when you buy a mixer that uses high end op amps and eq circuitry :) welcome to the club

Yeah, thanks for the info Mattu! Maybe americans came up with this after the Panzers or something... :D:D:D BTW, did you catch it on film?? (I mean, the model blow-up? :p) I saw a site showing lots of those "action" scenes with toys being destroyed in any fasion you can immagine... :p
 
no, we didn't have a cam corder around. I do have some funny pics of us as kids, blowing up Big Jim action figures with similar crackers. Now, if only I could get my scanner to work...
