I have some unemployment gaps in my resume which look bad, I'm sure. But when you're working on & selling beats, then you really are working just not for someone else. So have you guys put beatmaking on your resume? How would you put that? Self employed/ music production freelance? I'm wondering who has done this/ thoughts on this.

Just add that in there under special interests or some other section you have. I wouldn't put it under job experience unless you have a paycheck or it shows on your taxes. Feel me? You want to show your employer that you have other interests besides sitting at the office and you want to show off your skills. Me? I don't even have a resume.. I just drop a beat and rap my resume then drop it off on cd and I get the job everytime. Stay up!

Depends on how large the gaps are...and then I still probably wouldn't put it on my resume.

No need to get yourself characterized into a group that you may not belong too.
