No. I avoided it because I refuse to debate anything at all about P5.

Debate? debate what?

Either A. You liked it better than all the alternatives but do not want to admit it publically right here because of some silly image issues.

Or B. You knowingly and willingly used something you did not like to make music despite all the alternatives available to you.

There is no debate, you avoided it because you'd look rather silly either way. :)

I went to Catholic school for 11 years and they taught me to respect the dead so that's what I'm doing. So why don't we do this:

Let's have a moment of silence.............................

May P5 rest in peace!

LOL.

Okay man, I'll stop. ;)

this sounds interesting, I think this could bring a whole new level of fun to reason, especially if the integration with the MPD/MPK is better. I wonder if they added more midi controllable parameters in reason 5 now.

 You know what, being you said that, what sparked an idea.

what if they made new controllers that would slide to the settings of each instrument in Reason/Record. Like say if you had automation settings on NNXT, then you had automation on the Redrum, then on thor. Evertime you go to the next instrument the sliders on the controller move. Something like my Yamaha O2R 96, everytime I go to a new saved project the sliders move to that project setting. What you think about that?

if nnxt has input sampling like the video indicates it will offically be a ASR 10 replication
I sold my asr 10 for nnxt. So this will be offical
They showed NN19 can record and mention we can now create NNXT patches with loop points
That means we can sample external gear or vsti and replicate them and create refills this night be the best option for getting vsti sounds in reason
When I has my mpc I Sampled into the mpc and played the melodys as Samples

the nnxt has input sampling.just to let you know. this what i been telling people vstis is not as great as people think they are they are good for what they do but at what cost. let put it this way all of your favorite hardware machine have pretty much been replicated this time around just wait till tomorrow. i can wait.

Tomorrow the KONG DRUM DESIGNER will be revealed. Its a sampler/drumsynth with built in Fx and 16 pads.

The way i see it Reason 5 will be the biggest let down this year. Fanboys are too busy celebrating to see that the props are giving them functions they have been asking for for 4 years (audio in).

NO library update and NO Fx updates. And they also had the nerve to update the one device that that least needed update. Octorex is a JOKE.

If you give a starving man a cracker, he'll be ever gratefull. And that's exactly what the props are doing. They are skimming on functionality to keep users hungry, feeding them that same old BS about making the best of what you got for the sake of "stability". When 90& of the tracks you are hearing on the radio were made with REAL DAW's and "unstable" plugins. But dont get me wrong, I love Reason :D Just hate the marketing strategies.

Trusty stop with bullshit p5 this is a reason thread not a vs thread
Back on track

Reason is now up to par with other Daws

because, I was feeling your passion for the music when I saw that video.. lol
I was thinking of buying it myself..

LOL yo it's a good joint, I mean he is rocking it better than I was. it loads quick on the instruments it has loads of sounds. If that's what you're looking for synths, investigate before you buy, and it's tweakable easy too.

So, back on topic:

So far the biggest new features have to be the Doc Oc and the Neptune. If any body is interested, I heard through the grapevine that the song in the Neptune video will be a demo song in Record 1.5. I like that track.

I like Neptune.

But the new Dr. Octorex is hardly impressive. I mean, come on, that is the best they can do? REX/Recycle is proprietary Propellerhead technology, and this thing still only does half of what Beatscape (a Cakewalk afterthought) can do. I mean, seriously, look what just about every company besides Propellerheads has given people to use for working with REX files compared to this.

I would not call this impressive in the least.

The only person who looks rather silly is that certain special someone that wants to hijack a Reason/Record thread by talking about P5!!!!:)

I guess so. Why wouldn't they?????:rofl::rofl::rofl:

:rofl:Yo man you to stop picking on me, you and Mars man.
You said you had a hint for me, King Kong what's that all about lol tell me all about that, I wanna know what's the deal.

That's because you don't use Dr. Rex. It's not fair to say it isn't a big deal to people who use Reason/Record exclusively. Personally, I have never used Dr. Rex at all. When I open Rex files in Reason, I always used NNXT. Now I use Live for all Rex files. The thing that I like about Dr OctoRex is that the Props actually updated one of their devices. I've said it here in this thread that I think they should actually update all of their devices with new features and parameters. That's a step in the right direction.

Stop because you say so? Nah...This thread was derailed a long time ago with MPC talk...

I'll post what I wish.

Project5 is still better than Reason for the following:

It can record actual audio tracks (not just record into dated samplers).
It can host VST instruments and effects.
It can even make use of Reason via Rewire.
Groove Matrix.
Better Piano Roll and step sequencing.

If people are gonna compare mpc vs Reason, I can talk P5, a dead product, verses Reason. And it is still better than Reason in many respects.

yeah my 01x does the same thing...motorized faders are needed in more controllers...there was a midi controlling keyboard that had them but word is it was kinda buggy and got discontinued

Patience is a virtue. You'll find out tomorrow!!!!!

are these 5 things going to be the only new features? or are they just the ones being showcased and there are other updates as well? im hoping someone can slip that answer out there lol

 Moved on from the MPC topic or you are subliminally suggesting I should move on from the MPC yet you try to tell me I shouldn't try and force others to the MPC? LOL

My dude there is not one time I said others should keep their MPC, do what you want, I SAID FOR ME IT'S STAYING IN MY STUDIO! I got the "nah you should get rid of it, it's old technology, keep up with the times, controllers is this or that". Not one time have you seen me say one should keep their MPC, I said I am not getting rid of mines so I was only talking about me, while others are trying to tell me to get rid of mines. How you going to flip that on me bruh? Even you did that same thing you're claiming I did. But I will move on far as this convo.

What's new with this new Reason 5 sampler?

its like the drum version of the NNXT but it has a synth too this shit is insane im actually mad that i have to wait for the actual release now

yah I hear you, that is why I am taking piano lessons.. with vsts like that, you can't just fiddle around with it, it would be nice to have that pianist skill with those amount of sounds..

thats mainly why I want my vsts, there is just to many good stuff out there

if a man can play piano and have that beat making knowledge, then making music would be so much more easier and fun.. just think of an idea in your head and play it out on the keyboard
