i pretty much can do what machine does (not all of the features) but alot of them with the axiom pro 49 and record, i can scroll through all of my refills with the pads on the controller i can edit my loop points. copy and paste the only thing i can do is edit wav files and audio using the pencil tool but everything else i can do. now if they make a dedicate controller for records mixer then we gotta problem houston.

Records selling point is not the mixer its the ability to record audio
The props is a small team it took them years to develop a app to record audio
And to emulate the ssl mixer I don't see them not using it in there flag ship

i guess you didnt read nothing i wrote in my post the mixer is not going to waste. its in record they designed it to be record for a reason and it is a big selling point more so than actual recording these days. most people talk more about the mixer than the actual ability to record audio.

I feel you on that Mr Gibbs. I don't see the SSL mixer in Reason 5 either. Yo Mr Gibbs? THAT EXPLODE IS LIKE THE HOTTEST THING WITH THE LANES! Yo I can do all my drums on the same track then use the explode to separate them on different lanes. Man If dudes aint using that they are missing out. Oh that 1.0.1 import multi tracks is hot too! I am loving that.
 
half these cats have no clue because they didnt purchase record which leads me to believe they dont understand the true power of record.

Yo my boy and I were talking about that. Yo man if they make or get another company like Akai to make a dedicated controller for the SSL mixer in Record, I AM BUYING THAT ISH! Do you know what would happen? Yo we need to tell props that MrGibbs on the real. I think Akai would do it best because that MPK88 is freakin hot to death! they did it for Live, why not do that for SSL mixer? As you said HOUSTON WE GOT A HHHHHHHHHUUUUUUUGGGGEEEEE A(___O___)SS PROBLEM!

Anyone that got Record or Reason as crack shouldn't complain you're not getting any updates and Props can't help you YOU HAVE CRACK! How are they going to support you when you don't support them?

Man dudes just don't know Record is the ish, the stuff it has in it is hot to def, I don't talk about it alot but it's hot.

I thought you was getting Reason 5? Why you want Record?
 
Some very nice improvements to functionality and UI, but it still seems like you need to use recycle, bummer.

Also I wonder if it now has true timestretching, couldn't tell from the video.

Jea it looks like there is no time stretch.
Also if you drag your mouse cursor on next day you can see a little logo for next stuff.

The upgrades are great especially if you don't own Record.

If you are a Reason user, and you buy Record from now until Reason 5 is released, Reason 5 is a free update.

That's a good deal. I never bought Record, but Record/Reason 5 for $150, that's an update!!!!


Man, somebody said that the Props should have made Record the next Reason update. I'm glad they didn't. If you didn't already buy Record, you get a lot more bang for your buck now!!!!

So someone could buy reason right now, then select the upgrade for the record/reason combo and get reason 5 for free right? How much does that total? Time to go look on the site.
 
i wonder what the other updates will be?

*personally* i'd like to see:
a new filter module
new oscillators and filters for thor
frequency analyser
rebirth integration (was always hopeful of this but never saw it as a real possibility, but now props have ported it to the iPhone it proves they haven't totally forgotten about the classic!!).

That's pretty good, especially if you want record. I'm not really interested in record but if reason tempts me enough I may just pick up record just because its a deal. Octorex is bittersweet, some updates I like but really bummed you have to use recycle and there's no timestretching.
 
ps ouch for my friend because he just got the reason/record bundle LAST WEEK. i mean it literally arrived last thursday...
 
You can already use Rebirth in Reason. It kinda runs like it's own program, meaning that Reason can't actually control Rebirth, but the clock and transports are synced. Rebirth is free from the Rebirth museum. All you have to do is download it and burn an image disc. The disc has to be in your computer for it to work. In other words, the image disc acts like a dongle.
 
i know. i use rebirth via the rebirth input machine already. i would just like to see it more "conveniently" integrated within reason.

If I were him, and I already registered it, I would contact the Props and cry the blues. Maybe they will hook him up since he was so close to the beginning of the grace period. If he didn't already register, I would just register it today. Then he would be good.

Ok. I see. I have all of the 808 and 909 sounds that I need with Live's drum racks. I have the 303 sounds covered with a few different plug ins. Rebirth isn't that big of a deal to me anymore.
