Okay. So, I've been using Reason 5 for some time now. Who else is really digging on Reason 5? What other programs are you fellow composers using out there? I began my sequencing/producing career using FL Studio for the a long time until switching over to the Mac Universe. Right now I'm running Reason through Rewire into Pro Tools 8 though - would love to get Stylus or Omnisphere to get some more Club mixes going! If I had money, I'd actually have some real analog gear in there as well.

Tell me about your rig!

I use Reason + Record, as well as ReCycle. I sample into Record. Chop in ReCycle, export back to Reason + Record and make my tracks.

Same here. It's actually my preferred setup. I was using an Mpc with a lot of external synths and modules...but I sold my Mpc 2500 to go with Reason 5/Record 1.5/ Recycle and I haven't looked back. R/R/R handles anything I need to do.

That's what I was thinking. WOuld be nice to easily access your instruments within a click or two rather than trawlling through your 'browser'.

Presonus Studio One and Adobe Audition, with a bunch of vst plugs

I was using Ableton Live with GREAT success for a while, but after some tech difficulties, I found Reason instruments to really be inspiring - the workflow is not nearly as good (sequencer sucks compared to Live) but I feel more musical.
So I switched - I don't have Record, so I'm using Reaper for all my audio signal tracks (vox/guitars/etc).

Reaper is cheaper than Record, no less integrated than ProTools, and very powerful and not locked to hardware (PT9 tells me Avid is hurting - I wouldn't hedge any bets right now!). It's not as elegant as using Record with Reason, but for anyone using ReWire anyway, I highly recomend it. Very good time stretching algorithm as well!
