Problem with transferring samples from edison to slicer

So I have a midi keyboard that I want to use to play samples that I cut out from this drum break. I have all the samples I want broken down into the sections that I want then I use the drag feature to drag it to slicer which is what a tutorial said to do but I noticed that the sound seems a bit different in that when I play it on edison its louder and when I drag it, the volume gets lower for some reason, it also forces me to hold down the key to play the whole sample as opposed to in edison where it keeps going. I also clicked the "play to end" button but its still doesn't seem to be doing it well. Anyone know what could be causing this or how to fix it?

Go to the Slicex and go to presets hit sustaining, under the regions you got sliced cut them under cut and set it to one. Then you'll be fine champ.

So I went to Slicex but I dont see a preset thing and do you mean do this after dragging it to fruity slicer or do I not do that at all? Sorry im a bit new at this. And I need to re cut them in slicex?

Cut them in Edison by adding markers where you want to slice then transfer them into Slicex, but before you do all this. Go to The little arrow in the left corner of Slicex and click it. Then go to presets, then click sustaining. Then transfer the sample in there. It will already be chopped up for you. Then They'll be a box where it said Slicex on the left side and it will have a drop down box for each marker, you want to cut each marker it will look like this at first -- , you want to make it 1. Hope this helps brother.

OH ok thanks a lot dude, and then to play and record it just use piano roll?

Yeah use Slicex's piano roll. or you could use a controller and control the samples with that and record them which will then put them in the piano roll.

Controller? Whats that? Also its like playing a sample even though there aren't any on the piano roll or the pattern box, Do you know why that could be happening?

Probably from Edison turn it off with the green button in the mixer. A midi controller, looks like a keyboard just sends out MIDI signals to your DAW, it's hella lot easier to use to sample with than just he piano roll and a mouse.

ohhh yeah I am using a midi keyboard. and Edison isnt on the only thing I have in the pattern box is slicex and it says the sound is coming from there even though i dont know how that could be cause the piano roll for it is empty.

Are you looping it try to hit the stop button or the sign that looks like an infity symbol.

No im not looping it, it does it every time I click play (if I pause and play again it does it) and if I only click it once it does it at the very beginning of the pattern and then stops until the pattern loops again.
