nice.. i appreciate the feedback. i guess numarks v7 actually has a slipmat n all that jazz. i really only want it to scratch my own recorded vocals and samples i find in movies and all that so i only need one. 7 bills isnt a bad investment if i can mess with it first. i dont think scratch live is gonna be for me, too much setup, having to buy time coded vinyl and all that.. i will definitely be checking the cd decks out

I promise you if you're worried about setup time and too much setup itself, time code is WAY easier to manage then CD decks. This is coming from first hand experience. If you think having to setup vinyl timecode is too much of a setup (literally plugging in like 4 - 5 different things) wait till you have to burn CDs every day to update your music library, or even if its USB, you'll just have to keep buying more and more of the USB sticks. It's a giant pain in the ass. If you want the easiest route, i'd say go with a MIDI controller. If you want to use 1200's or something of the sort, i'd say go time code. I wouldn't really suggest anyone go the CDJ route. I mean it's great to know how to work them incase you're playing at a club and your equipment fails and they have CDJs, but for any other reason than that i'd say stay away from CDJs.

Well it will be awesome for scratching your own vocals but 7bills is too much for a V7 (imo)...check THIS out.

Actually THIS would be pretty good also.

@Coldfusion - Numarks will read from a Hard drive and they will act as controllers as well...they're pretty dope.

I have a friend who DJ's extensively in the UK (MOS) and did some promotional work for Philips. The Gave him a set of CDJ100's and a mixing unit. He ended up selling the lot as he just did not like using CD's at all. He said they are soul less, unlike vinyl. He has thousands of records in his house, some remixed by himself.

New setup - bought a new desk + 23" external monitor...also bought an external keyboard but still waiting to get shipped :-)

Is that blue sticky note strategically placed acoustic treatment? :hmmm:

lol are u hatin' cause i own a mac? yeah that sticky's been there for years...it's not like I'm looking to get a perfect pic of my studio anyway, that's not what I use my mac for :-) I will upload a new pic with the new keyboard and no sticky this time ;-)

Nah I have nothing against mac's or good photography.

It's just crazy how every single mac user can take good photos. And every non-mac user (me included) takes bad-lighting night shots of their studio with a 1 megapixel cellphone camera.

Prime example in the post above me @Joey lol, but no hate that's a nice studio. What monitors?

Aiiight good to kno there's no hate lol....I use Samson Resolv 65a (i think thats the model)...65 watts active monitors...they're cheaper now from when I first got them 5 years ago (and still going strong!).

I'm at work right now so I can't see Joeycutless' pics cuz imageshack is blocked lol...I'll look at it later and see if the pic quality is bad :-)

Its not bad its just in low light so the ISO is cranked up and there is a lot of noise.
