I'm in the market for one as well, by any chance would you care to share with me what you're planing on using it for? As in like hip hop, female vocals, guitar recordings, and which mic you chose?

I've been doing my research and am still pretty clueless as to what to get. I need one for hip hop vocals, and one liners for house music. I'm not sure if Mods mind me going slightly off topic here, but if they do mind, i'm sorry and please just message me on the forums! I'd love to discuss this (the mics) slightly further with you!

I'm planning on getting mine to record my personal hip hop vocals and maybe a little singing, maybe a little guitar later. I'm getting an Electro Voice RE-320 or a SM7B as I want a dynamic mic to help reduce sibilance and recording in an untreated room. Other options are Blue Spark and Audio Technica AT4040. I'm planning on getting the new Mbox 3 Mini as my interface.

Adz that's really sweet looking! I'm jelly of your 1200's! Did you pick up the S4 recently with the free scratch upgrade?! And the red looks nice!

Thanks man got the S4 last year so I had to pay for the upgrade was worth it.

Are you using the S4 as the mixer for the Techs?

If so that is sweet. I really want an S4 to mess around with.

Only problem with the S4 is that the cross fader is non replaceable. Which is retarded. So when I scratch and stuff (also due to the fact that the S4's fader movements are limited due to it's size) I have one of my buttons on my MidiFighter re-mapped to act as the fader cutting in and out. So instead of using the fader, I use a button to emulate the same effect.

Aside from that it's super sick.

That's a raw setup. Bummer on no crossfader replacement though. That's kind of a letdown.

update... moved into a new spot (the walls are royal plum purple.. though it would make for a good vibe)

Very nice. One question though, how do you find the acoustics?

Suprisingly, they are not bad in the control room area. Decent for mixing, ok to record some acoustic guitar and my girlfriend singing, but no good for my rap vocals as i have a bit of treatment in there, but not enough. However, I am in the process of building some nice sound panels with roxul safe n sound. so in a couple weeks i should be able to move out of the closet for vocals and track in the control room.

My biggest grievance is that I need a new preamp and just spent all my money on a copy of PT 9 that i dont use at all. so if you know anyone who is interested let me know!

I would think that the acoustics would be good enough in that booth...maybe you need to invest in a better mic...I use a Audiotechnica AT4050 and it shines every time I use it...my booth doesn't have any sound panels or foam, and i just use a basic mackie preamp......some plugins will also help in making your vocals sound crisp too...

no the acoustics are fine in there but vocals always sound better in a well treated open space. the mic doesnt need upgrading its a Mojave Audio 201 FET. Also I use the Waves complete bundle. Im getting to a point where I know exactly what I want from my sound so, just need to save money
