i see no reason to go out and buy a lcd.

Saves a lot of space, use less electricity, easier on the eye (important when your a computer based musician) and there is pretty much no difference in price these days.

Unless your a vidio/graphics pro LCD's are the way to go. I'm running a 32' HDTV and a regular 17' LCD.

The CRT is still preferred by purists nowadays, it gives it a "warm" feel. ey , what are the little motitor stands for ? i just have them on the desk, whats the difference? so i can know if i need to get some stands too or what.

oh,and here are mine

i have 2 monitors on the left, but you cant see the second one (i have 2 for the PC and one for the Mac)
the foam does more to the sound than the stands. i have the stands because it frees up desk space. the foam eliminates a lot of rumble noise i got when i had my old monitors on my desk.

I thought that you had got rid of the motif. DId you sell the board and replace it with rack. It looks like you have a motif and fantom racked up.
i always had a motif rack . i feel like elling it somtimtes because i use a few sounds on it, but i feel i just havent explored it enough

I thought at one time you were selling a motif classic 7

ummm THE ONLY BENEFIT OF A CRT IS ITS FAST REFRESH RATE! lcd's are crisper, more quite (no electrical humm), and less elecro magnetic radiation being given off so you will be less fatigued in long sessions. just look it up instead of believing every myth you hear.

why look up something i don't care about lol. I was provided information I didn't request

Xab, i may already know the answer to this question but just to be certain, why do you have all of those synths when you have Reason? Not that it;s the end all be all, but Reasons got like 2000 synths.

Actually the only benefit of a CRT is higher contrast. You can get high refresh rates on either CRTs and LCDs.

Timbre, workflow, very different synths, very different sounds, preference, ease of use.

Xab,

So when you aren't using Reason, how do you sequence? Can you tell me about youir workflow? I had a MPC 2000 and I trade4d it for Reason, which I like, but I got a 1000 in addition because I like some of the MPC features (Tap Tempo, adjustment of samples on the fly as opposed to going back to Recycle). Do you have any suggestions about how I can use the MPC with Reason. I would like to use it as a MIDI controller and I am in the process of figuring that out.

Meeko,

what are you using on that Anita Baker record. I have it too, it's one of my prized possessions. Great for sampling but there is one in particular that is gold!

I sequence everything in Sonar. Its kind of pointless to use the mpc as a controller imo the MPD32 has covered a lot of the features from mpcs that people have wanted. If I were you I would look into buying one.
