Place to buy rare soul music online? (Digital)

Like it says. Any sites to buy rare soul records online in digital format?

I want to get into sampling but don't have a turntable or even any record stores near me.

Dont know of any digital soul-based music websites. Do u have a credit card and Internet access?...if so, the world is yours. Since you're just sampling, look into getting a belt drive turntable (usually less expensive than their 'direct drive' DJ-friendly counterparts). eBay, mane.
Although there are no record stores near you, I'm POSITIVE there's an attic full of dusty records within 20 miles of you...no matter where u are.

Remember...the best producers didn't make excuses. If j-dilla could make some of the illest beats the early 90's ever heard by pressing record and stop on his tape deck, I'm sure you can invest in an inexpensive turntable and scrap together at least a few pieces of vinyl.

Maybe Craigslist in hopes of finding the dusty attic full of records, btw.
 
You'll most likely find the more popular stuff and some compilations, everything won't get digitalized. If you are looking for rarer stuff, you'll have to go through some blogs and all that.

I know this guy really wants digital downloadable copies, but as far as finding rare music, this will prove futile at best. in this age of technological proliferation, no digital audio is going to be RARE, bc the purpose of digital media is to make it more readily available to consumers. Just face it...the world's rare music exists on vinyl. Vinyl is the past and the future for sampling producers.

Some of those rarer records do get ripped by collectors and posted on blogs though, so if he for some reason isn't into buying records but wants his music and samples in a digitial format, that's probably the best bet as far as finding rarer stuff goes. Of course, if it was easy to find, there are probably many other mp3 digging beat makers downloading the same stuff too.

There's no point on starting the vinyl vs mp3 debate again.

Well, I can afford a cheap turntable and vinyls. Thing is all the record stores around here only carry popular stuff. Plus Vinyl takes up a lot of space which I don't currently have. Thx for the answers though.
 
Unfortunatly most of the tracks that are on the internet are not really "rare"anymore....What I do if I want to look for non vynil samples is check old movies from the 70s (especially B movies).
What you could try for some "rare" soul samples is check some blacksploitation movies (they're both a good source for some sweet samples and HELLA funny to watch!).

Going for blaxploitation in hopes of finding samples is a bit obvious, and done before. After all, a lot of the soundtracks have been released on records too.

I'm talking quotes, sound effects and what not here, I know that most of the soundtracks have been released on records and.
 
eBay is your best bet. But really you'll find samples you will never find online in the real world. Buy a ~ $50 USB ion turntable, hit up the salvation army and dig thru their bins. Get 60s and 70s music, you're bound to find something. Best way to go if you want to be a sample based producer.

Yeah man. Hit up ebay for a used usb turntable. I have the stanton t92, or check clearance sales for good usb turntables. What Im planning on doing is exactly what he said, which Ive done already just more of. Also man just get like 20 records at a time, sample em, and re-sell em. You dont have to keep all them shits. I dont want records laying everywhere. As a matter of fact I got a nice lil stack for sale now if you want em. like he said tho, ebay 60/70/80 soul/rnb/rock records
