Same thing applies here. Without Pete Rock there would be no J Dilla. I don't feel they need to be compared to each other for that very reason.

ok, even though JB made it possible for MJ to exist, MJ is still clearly better
 
what Puleeeaz - Dilla could out rock pete, out doc dre, out premier preemz ANY DAY - DILLA DAWG ALL DAY on this one. Not only would he out produce these catz, He'd out DJ them 2 - and I'd put a grip on it. Dilla got mo ish in the vault dead than these catz had alive SON.
 
Jay Dee. I love Pete too but i have always been more inspiered by jay then pete. I dont the two should be compared.
 
Overall Pete Rock... but JD had more versatility I dont think Dilla is thatt over rated but iduno if he'd make my top 5? Def top 10 tho
