Thanks for putting that interview up. The guy is a legend and I tend to believe what he says about his track being lifted.

Friend of mine interviewed Prince Paul for a street mag a couple of months ago and although he didn't say he'd had ideas stolen he admitted that he felt as though he has been overlooked, under-credited (financially especially) throughout his career. No ****! How a guy like that still be considered underground is amazing.

It comes as no surprise that my friend said that PP seemed real humble about his pioneering work so far. Maybe others feed off that and don't give him the full credit (esp in a monitary sense) that he deserves for his contribution to the hiphop artform because he acts as if he doesn't care. His satisfaction has been in the creation of dope music and he does not have the energy to deal with the money side of things. I can relate to that but doesn't mean I like it and I realise that its up to me to find the balance.

Its all up to the individual, including the no-imagination mutha-fvcka who's looking to rip you off ( please say it ain't true about Q-tip ).

I'll see if I can get a transcript of the interview with PP if anyones interested. I think its a bit all-over the place. It took three attempts over 3 weeks to get him on the phone :) but it was amazing that he did the interview at all IMO.

...He was born in Jamaica?

Yeah. My sisters and older brothers were born in Jamaica. Myself and my younger brother Grap were born in the States, in the Bronx. I have two brothers and two sisters, and two other sisters on my father's side.

We likkle but we tallawah.

I'm glad he finally came forward. Now the cats who don't know will finally see why I give Pete so much props. If Marley does an interview on his stories it would be crazier.
