Is this program an improvement on the old version, because i thought the last one was sh!te because you couldn't accurately mix with no bpm features or effects....
so all yo ppl, if you've used this piece of software, write your reviews in here
(i'm trying to decide whether it's worth a look)

yeah, i know that man..but the red version might be worth my valuable time :cool:
 
take a look at BPMStudio, there is a version u can get for free (V3, i think)
the best and most PRO DJ soft. out there IMO

PCDJ Red, is very stable, more so than BPM Studio and with the new features of PCDJ Red, its fast becoming the industry standard.

If you are from the UK I could possibly arrange a demo or give you a place of one of our installs to view a demo of it being used live.

The thing is, PCDJ targets people who want to mix small time and not professionally, unfortunately i want to mix pro stylez, i want effects, i want kill switches and options.... PCDJ can't provide this,
but it's an excellent program for what it does best, broadcasting and small time mixing :D
 
You're talking about the PCDJ Silver. PCDJ Red is the professional version - try that one. Download the demo at www.pcdj.com

Maybe BPM Studio would be an option for pro mixing it has Kill switches, Graphic EQ, etc etc, PCDJ Red will support DirectX Plug-Ins pretty soon, the trouble with BPM Studio is that it can be highly unstable at the best of times but win's over in it's feature list, PCDJ is highly stable with less features.
 
PCDJ vs Visual Discomix

PCDJ has a very poor (if not at all) beat synchronization... For example, if you match 2 songs on the same BPM, PCDJ will only adjust the pitch but not check if everything goes fine during time.

BTW, there is no "synchro start" option that would allow you to start the second song with it's first beat matched to the one actually playing.

Visual Discomix is the best I've tried, some like PCDJ or Traktor are close or have features it doesn't have, but these aren't pro dj mixing progs...

i get in here, and with all due respect, people always are recommending traktor,
i want to live to the day this will end. I think the program is a tacky little effort at trying to create some pro mixing software..
.'for me it just doesn't cut it...but then again thats my opinion...

Fookin hell!!!!! What are you people all about???!!:confused: Mixing is about skill thus gaining pleasure! BPM matching? Thats just not what it's about. I've used every PC based DJ package and in my opinion PCDJ RED is the best and is the closest thing you'll get on the PC to actual mixing......:angel:
 
PCDJ RED...the best for mixing on the fly

My opinion,

All of the MP3 software has its ups and downs.

I have thouroughly tested all in live on the fly mxing situations. I strongly suggest PCDJ Red if you want a solid, feature rich, reliable tool. The PCDJ Red software has been designed to work with any external mixer with the Numark DMC-01 controller. You get your Eq's and Kill switches this way...through your mixer. you don't need to touch the keyboard or mouse AT ALL! The program itself is very feature rich with flawless looping and sampling on the fly and exact cueing...as well as perfect instant start, which most can not do on this level. The more crap you put directly into a more Mouse driven program, the more chances for lock ups and crashes. I have never experianced this with PCDJ red. I have total controll of all the features of the software through the controller, and I don't look like a dumb *** in front of everyone clicking with my mouse to DJ. With all the new features of the Red program, I would put it against any software out there for on the fly mixing. The BPM extractor is extremely accurate, of course you still have to know where to drop you song in, but if you are a true DJ this is the fun part. The Automix Programs are toys...this is the real deal. I have at least 8 clubs in my local area using the PCDJ red and the controller as there propriatary club system.....this is definatly a proffessional application.

to mix in a club with PC software is sad, to mix in a club with PCDJ is even sadder :rolleyes: ,
to spend large amounts of money on mixing in a club with PCDJ software is the single most sad thing i've heard of in the club scene/dj-ing world.

if yer gonna mix, mix properly, with either CD Decks or TT's.

Why not?

Why CD's over Mp3's at high quality? With the software, I can mix down 10 songs in under 3 miniutes if I want...seemlessly. I can't say that for CD's or Vinyl...not to mention track managment. To say that a club shouldn't instail an Mp3 system is to say they shouldn't move foward in todays technology. In case you haven't noticed...Mp3's are here to stay. To deny this is just plain ignorant. Just like CD's took there time to work there way into most DJ's arsenal, Mp3's are slowly but shurely doing the same. Most Mp3 players have well past CD players in functionalty and features. Have you heard of Nicky Holloway from the UK? He is a well know House DJ with "Trust the DJ "and already uses the PCDJ software for a high percentage of his gigs. Don't get me wrong...Turntables are where its at, but Mp3 players can greatly add to your bag of tricks.

If you don't belive me now....just wait and see for yourself.

Large amounts of money? The software and controller only run about $500 U.S. That is comparable to any CD Player with twice the functionality.

You really should try out the full working version of the latest PCDJ Red, leaps and bounds of an improvement over the 1200sl software.
